$29 buys you both sd card and usb inputs to iPad. I have used both for years, and they are terrific. See below:

Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit

With the iPad Camera Connection Kit, it's incredibly easy to download photos and videos from your digital camera to your iPad so you can view them on the gorgeous iPad display and share them with family and friends.
The kit includes two connectors, each with a different interface:
The Camera Connector features a USB interface. Just plug it into the dock connector port on your iPad, then attach your digital camera or iPhone using a USB cable (not included). iPhone 3G is not supported.
Use the SD Card Reader to import photos and videos directly from your camera's SD card. Connect it to your iPad, then insert your digital camera's SD card into the slot.
After you make the connection, your iPad automatically opens the Photos app, which lets you choose which photos and videos to import, then organizes them into albums. When you sync iPad to your PC or Mac, the photos and videos on your iPad are added to your computer's photo library.

If one buys through Amazon from another company, and the camera is "gray market", is there any difference other than warrantee? Is the camera itself not built as well? What about lenses?

Thanks

Thanks for your help. I looked at the links, and clearly others have had the same problem, and there are some suggested fixes which look promising.

Thanks. I see that option, but I did not choose it. I will try your links.

Are you able to load now and have location data get there?

Thanks.

Photos is wonderful for organizing and viewing, maybe rudimentary for editing.

It will "search" on title, location, or keyword for instant display of old photos. It also can create "smart albums" based on multiple criteria, and best for me, it "nests" folders for albums, allowing much better functionality for viewing on iPad or iPhone. For instance, I have a folder for "Trips", "places", "holidays", etc.

I import all pictures into Aperture (or the old iPhoto, which is still on your computer) for catalogues get, batch editing of title, location, etc, and the re-export them back to Photos.

Like you, I was very upset when I first saw the change, but now find it fantastic for what it does.

I recently uploaded some pictures to Flickr, and notice that the geotag location information on the photos does not come through. Pictures I loaded a few years ago do have the location info in Flickr, including a nice map. It is a critical element of cloud storage for me so that I can search on "location".

Am I doing something wrong.

Thanks
