Really...I've had no luck with programs to get an accurate shutter count on my Canon cameras. Send one in to Canon for a cleaning and they will free of charge give you an accurate shutter count. Just sent my old 5D in for a cleaning and found out to my surprise is had over 98,000 clicks on it. Damn thing is still buzzin along and came back with a clean bill of health. Your 5DIII is probably in need of a tune up cleaning anyway....

You will enjoy the results from the 7DII, it's a fabulous camera. Most of the time I shoot with FF lenses and the results a awesome. Love my 70-200 F4 and also have a 70-200 F2.8. Use this body most of the time for action sports both indoor and outdoor. The 10 FPS for sports is a WOW...The 24-70mm F2.8 is also a great lens for this camera. I would not advise a 7D over a 7DII as there is a world of difference between the two, I have owned both.

Been using Wasabi batteries for years in all my Canon camera grips. Use Eneloops in all my flashes. Have never had any issue with any of them. The Wasabi batteries appear to last just as long as the Canon batteries do. Have never had a failure or damage done to any of my cameras.

The 70-200 with a 1.4X extender will give you great results. Sold my 2X extender as the results after many snaps were not acceptable. Have a 70-200 f2.8 and a canon 70-200 f4 love the f4 for outdoors, have used both with the 1.4 extender and WOW...

I'm using a pair of Yonguno 685's and a YN622C-TX controller. Have used these on 3 different Canon bodies and it works well with all of them. I'm very satisfied with Yongnuo.

A starter DSLR camera will not break the bank and let you get started in the DSLR world. Lots of learning ahead. Your investment would not be near as much as if you were to jump into a 5DIV right out of the box. You may decide that it's not something you care for or don't have the time to advance your knowledge. With a starter you don't have as much invested. If you decide to go forward invest in good glass, practice with that. After time you may outgrow your current camera body, at that time you can upgrade. Keep in mind if you invest in a system and have lenses for that system, unless you sell off everything you need to stay with that system be it Canon, Nikon or any other. We all started somewhere and I think a starter is a great way to begin.

For about a decade or more I've used WinRAR. It came with a lifetime licence. Just load it to each new PC with no problems. Now running 2 Windows 10 desktops and a Windows 7 laptop with it, all with the same license.

I'm a Canon user and needed flash replacements. Bought a pair of Youngnuo YN685 flashes and a YN622C-TX wireless flash controller. Like the setup and they give great results. The cost is much less than buying one speed speedlite, almost half.

Use Laxar cards and I believe they come with a free recovery program. Been years since I made the mistake but the software did recover my photos.

Leave the batteries in my grips all the time taking them out only to charge them, put them back in when charging is complete. Have never had a battery leak in my grips. In my speedlite i use AA Eneloops I recharge them and leave them out of the flash, never had one of those leak but they are AA and that I would not chance.

Don't know what type of shooting you do or what lenses you own, to suggest a replacement. Canon refurbished is a great option, through my experiences. If you can go a few more dollars one of my favorite bodies is the 7DII.

Go to your local camera store or Best Buy where you can hold and get the feel for the camera of your choice. Local camera stores will often let you test drive, rent a camera before making a decision. Read reviews on which camera would best fit what your shooting preferences are, within your price range. After that go shopping for your best deal...

Have fun!!!

Own 3 Canon camera bodies and use Wasabi batteries. I have never had a problem with them in any of my grips. They appear to last as long as my Canon batteries did or do. Can't think of anytime they pooped out on me, always carry a spare set with me just in case. Compared to Canon batteries and I'm sure Nikon Wasabi is a great choice and savings.

Have been using Canon for over 20 years. The only way I know to get an accurate shutter count is to send it back to Canon. My old 5D which I still use on occasion needed a cleaning. I requested the shutter count which there is no cost for. Received the camera back all cleaned up, a clean bill of health and the shutter count. To my surprise it almost had 100,000 clicks on it, but it has been used a lot over the years. Take care of your gear and it will take care of you...

Just sent my old Canon 5D with almost 100,000 clicks on it back to Canon New Jersey for service and a cleaning. They did a great job and gave it a clean bill of health. Don't use that body much but it still has a place in my photography world. I take care of my gear and this is the first time I have ever sent anything in for a cleaning or service, including lenses. I would suggest send anything needing cleaning or service back to Canon or Nikon. They know their products. though it isn't cheap. Cost me over $140.00 but it was worth the expense. take care of your gear and it will last a long time.

Been using Laxar cards for many years and have not had any issue with them and will continue using them. I have had issue with Transend and SanDisk. The contact cleaning thing worked about 50% of the time. Toss any cards that give me problems as they are cheap enough to buy. Use the Laxar Workflow system and it is the best, little expensive but I like using it as I can load SD and CF cards at the same time, very fast.
