True, there is some crap. But there also are some excellent films and series. There are documentaries for every taste or interest. There are some superb foreign films. And there are great series. House Of Cards was the best known and we enjoyed it immensely. But we got totally hooked on Gran Hotel and on Spiral. For eight bucks a month, Netflix is the last great bargain!

I think it's unfair to restrict pictures to a certain time period. I don't have the time to go out and shoot a specific subject and meet a deadline. But I always have good shots in my file. For example, this week I would have liked to enter a great street scene I shot in Naples. But it would be rejected, as was my entry last week on wood. I'm sure many others feel the same. You're closing the door on some excellent pictures.

I have a very good life, now 81 years long. During it I always have respected women: my wife, my three daughters, my two granddaughters and numerous close women friends. I also have a great and even twisted sense of humour. But I do not tell jokes about blacks eating watermelon, Polish people doing stupid things (or for that matter, Newfoundlanders) or blind people walking into walls. If anyone should "get a life" it is you!

This is sexist, offensive "humour" that might have been mildly amusing to those of limited intelligence in 1955 but which is totally unacceptable in 2015.

Depends how much time you have. I have an Optex scanner which didn't cost too much and which does a very good job . But it can be tedious.I didn't do them all but merely made a representative selection.
Expect some unpleasant surprises if you have not looked at the slides for some tine. The Kodachromes will be as good as the day they came back from the lab. But Ektachrome, Fuji Color and Anscochrome and some of the off brand labels likely will have faded or shifted colour. You can rescue some in Photoshop or, as I did in some cases, convert them to B&W.

How about some real funny jokes about cancer? Strokes and Parkinsons are also a lot of fun. Obviously nobody smirking at these senior thigh slappers has had Alzheimers in their family. We have had four friends suffer the ordeal of their parents dying of Alzheimers. It is a long and cruel business for all concerned.It no longer is acceptable to make jokes about black people or the mentally handicapped. But vacant eyed victims of dementia are a real funny subject. Lets stick to taking pictures!
