That is a very good photograph, well done.
The Lincoln Highway was and is U.S. 30. The National Road is U.S. 40. Both run parallel to each other east to west and west to east.
This is RT. 40, that was U.S. 40, later to become mostly Interstate 70
Long story short: wife of 41 years is from West Virginia. There are a lot of places to photograph in this area, especially in the fall. Great colors as well as many historic places. It may not be the west but it does have many advantages.
Welcome, those are nice photographs. I am live now in Maryland but I am from the Lakewood area, Edgewater, been gone about 35 years.
This is in Swallow State Park in western Md.
This is to all of you that find any mention of God in our society offensive. I will take all the money you have in your possession that states " In God we trust." Just IM me and I will give the location to send it too. I will not post any of your names or amounts that you send to me. Do not, please let me down, just send it all to me.
The initial statement in this section makes me wonder if the writer has taken the time to really understand the life of Jesus and the Bible. John 8:32 " know the truth and the truth will set you free."
Mankind as a whole is a disaster. Without the basic guidelines that are expounded in the Bible and in the life of Jesus, society would be anarchy. The basic precepts are the essential foundation to all the societies on this planet. It would be a very different world if the majority did not follow the basic ideas expressed by the Bible and Jesus.
If you do not wish to believe in Jesus and the theology expressed in the Bible, fine. Remember; that how you live and how you interact with others is all based on a man and theology that was started way before Jesus. Jesus was the point at which all of this came together, at one point in time. You are free to make any decision that you want but what you reap you also so; not only theologically but in life in general.
This was taken in my backyard. The shadow of the tree is still in the frost.

No I did not make my town's name. It is appropriate for the area thought. Ask anyone that lives in the area. The name actually comes from on of the original settlers.
Early in the fall before the colors really come on.
