If it will bother you exchange it while you can. I have an XE2 and XPro2 and don’t have that.

It's a shame that car dealers have such a bad reputation, and it seems to be universal. I have two female friends who need new cars, and they hate going to dealers.

If you belong to Costco you can buy a new or used car through them.

I would get a used XT-30. The X-Pro series is different from the XT series.

I prefer the uncropped. There are leading lines on the uncropped version which make the photograph more visually interesting.

Living in NY and N.J. I have been to NYC to many times to count. There is a book Photographing New York City digital field guide by Jeremy Pollack. Central Park is a wonderful place and museums are close the MET and Natural History and the overlooked N.Y. Historical Society. The World Trade Center Memorial (which is next to the Museum) is extremely moving and that whole area is worth a visit.
Also
Flatiron building
Grand Central terminal
Empire State Building
St. Patrick’s Cathedral
Rockefeller Ctre

If you on ly have. Short time limit yourself to an area.
I have never had a bad experience in NY. Just be observant and take precautions as you would anywhere.
I keep my wallet in a zippered compartment inside my zippered purse. (In Paris a pickpocket tried unsuccessfully tried to get my wallet)
Enjoy.

Look at tour books to get an idea what to see. Get a guide it will make things easier especially since you don’t have much time. Read The Source by James Michener for historical perspective.

The thing that catches me out is having a ring that won't unscrew. It can be solved, but until then its pretty worrisome.

I agree. Also you won’t be able to use your lens shade. Buy the right size filter for the lens you will be using. Look for used filters from reputable places. This advice is from someone who has used them. And organization is a headache.
