Knowing a quite a bit about Yom Kippur and a bit about photography, I can assure that you are by no means in the clear my son. For a full and guilt free forgiveness you must first make the arduous cross country pilgrimage to B&H Photo the Mecca of Photography where you will bare your soul to Clerics trained, expert and seasoned in the sins of all manner of technology and who themselves have been tested a time or two. They will listen with sympathy, gravitas and furrowed brow to your confession and advise you as to the required penance.

NOTE: Like all things worthwhile in life, a "full and guilt free forgiveness" may come at a cost. Much may depend on how much room you have in your suitcase and your credit limit.

All said with a big tongue in cheek. Enjoy all that you have and accept my best wishes to you and yours and all my fellow members celebrating this time of year for a Happy, Healthy, Sweet, Prosperous and Joyous New Year.

Thank you for the "invitation". I have not been to NYC since a business trip in 1985. I was saying Kaddish and the choice of minyanim was spectacular. I look forward to the challenge of "control vs temptation". Thank you for your good wishes and I return them to you and your family. Have a great Succos. Chag Sameach.

Why stop? Get a lens conveter for your Canon glass, and take pictures of the raising of your Succos booth. Why stop there, go all the way and acquire a Sony A9? Full Frame, fast everthing, including focus, in body stabilization like Pentax, only better, a world of glass to use with an adaptor, plus native lenses.

My school always taught, to cure carnal weakness, to over indulge, to go full bore into whatever you desire. This therapy didn't always work, but it sure reduced Guilt, cannot be a bad thing. BTW, the 6000 is a bargain right now, a very capable sweetie.

Hi, Jack! (Sorry, but I couldn't resist it). I thought of using some of my FD lenses and my Tamron 18-270 for EOS. I think that I will give the Sony lenses some work and see if all of the hype is true or not.

I, too, have a Sony A6000. You are forgiven! Actually, if we didn't have lots of gear from different manufacturers, there wouldn't be much to discuss.

Thank you, Jerry. It appears that I will have plenty to discuss. This A6000 has a number of menus that will stump a computer scientist. I will keep at it.

With Yom Kippur over and my confession of all of my sins hopefully having been accepted, I have one last confession to make to make to the membership. I have once again dipped my toe in the water of a strange of a strange body. I have, for many years, been a Canoneer. I did slip several years ago and acquired a Pentax k-r and later, a k-5. Most recently, I have again displayed my weakness and I bought a Sony A6000. Is there a Photo-Therapist on this Forum that can help me curtail this wanderlust?

Christina:

There are a number of post-processing programs that will allow you to remove objectionable lines, etc. I use Picasa (free version, but obsolete although still available for download on the internet). I also have Photoshop Elements 11 (old version, latest version, I think, is Elements 15). Go to search on the home page of this site (UHH) and search for "post processing or Picasa or Elements. You will get enough leads to keep you reading all night long.

It's overcast today and didn't know how these would turn out, I used PP on some of them to help with the details!
I enjoy finding these, so much time & thought into building these, and they still remain!!

Hi, Christina,
Great pix. May I suggest removing the wires in a number of the images.

I am a committed Christian that loves taking pictures. I want to somehow get God/Jesus involved with my photography. I want to shoot pictures that have a single Christian theme such as God's love, crosses, Christian road signs, God's mercy, God's power, etc. I don't want to shoot flowers, animals, plants. Any ideas with examples would be much appreciated. Blessings: Bob Example: For years I was heavily involved with the Christian Motorcyclist Association. Christian bikers wear colorful colors on the back of their jackets of their various Christian clubs and are very photogenic with the motorcycles. At that time I was not into photography. I went to hundreds of biker rallies each year spreading the Gospel and could have taken some great pictures of say a Hell's Angel with his arms around a Christian biker praying together. I want to maybe even print a book with some inspiring pictures that glorify our Lord/God

Go into your workshop and try to make a flower, animal or plant. Don't discount miracles that we see every day.

Hi All
I decided to Show the UHH group of a local show in which I entered this image in the category "Very Fine Art" and placed very well. Please enjoy whether you agree or not. But thanks very much for looking. RBorud

Outstanding. Worthy of wall space. You have stirred my photographic creative juices.

JTA - Yisrael Kristal, a Holocaust survivor from Haifa who was recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest man in the world, has died, a month before his 114th birthday.

Haaretz reported that Kristal died Friday.

Born on September 15, 1903, in the town of Zarnow, Poland, Kristal moved to Lodz in 1920 to work in his family's candy business. He continued operating the business after the Nazis forced the city's Jews into a ghetto, where Kristal's two children died. In 1944, he was deported to Auschwitz, where his wife, whom he had married at 25, was killed.

In 1950, he moved to Haifa with his second wife and their son, working again as a confectioner. In addition to his son and daughter, Kristal has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Guinness recognized him as the world's oldest living man in 2016. When asked at the time what his secret was to long life, Kristal said: "I don't know the secret for long life. I believe that everything is determined from above and we shall never know the reasons why. There have been smarter, stronger and better-looking men than me who are no longer alive. All that is left for us to do is to keep on working as hard as we can and rebuild what is lost."

Last year, when he turned 113, about 100 family members celebrated his bar mitzvah, a century after he missed it due to the upheavals of World War I.

Should I keep it or just get rid of it?? its in good shape but batteries is stuck / corroded inside. Battery cover
is now broken.. The lenses I have for it ($$$) I might be able to use on another canon camera with an adapter
(if I wish to buy another canon camera).

so just asking what to do.. Sometimes I think the iPhone or other phones we have is enough to get a decent pic.

please advise ...

tks..

A sad ending for a hardy T70. An appropriate end would be a burial at sea with full honors. (I just checked the battery in my AE-1 and it's clean and happy.)

I have a Canon AE-1 with a Canon 1.4 lens. Is there an adapter that would make it possible to use this lens on a Canon Rebel T6? How would this work, since the old lens is not auto-focus?

You might want to spend an afternoon with your AE-1, FD lenses and some color and black and white film. The pleasures of such an afternoon might help to erase the urge to convert the FD lenses to EOS.

Having just completed a mail order course on how to control new and contemporary GAS, I have turned to admiring old cameras and stuff. Is this just another variety of GAS or is it a new version of an old illness?
