My confession of infidelity.......
With Yom Kippur over and my confession of all of my sins hopefully having been accepted, I have one last confession to make to make to the membership. I have once again dipped my toe in the water of a strange of a strange body. I have, for many years, been a Canoneer. I did slip several years ago and acquired a Pentax k-r and later, a k-5. Most recently, I have again displayed my weakness and I bought a Sony A6000. Is there a Photo-Therapist on this Forum that can help me curtail this wanderlust?
Your wallet is the only therapist you need.
When it is empty is the time to stay 'stop!'.

I, too, have a Sony A6000. You are forgiven! Actually, if we didn't have lots of gear from different manufacturers, there wouldn't be much to discuss.
Why stop? Get a lens conveter for your Canon glass, and take pictures of the raising of your Succos booth. Why stop there, go all the way and acquire a Sony A9? Full Frame, fast everthing, including focus, in body stabilization like Pentax, only better, a world of glass to use with an adaptor, plus native lenses.
My school always taught, to cure carnal weakness, to over indulge, to go full bore into whatever you desire. This therapy didn't always work, but it sure reduced Guilt, cannot be a bad thing. BTW, the 6000 is a bargain right now, a very capable sweetie.
Rationalize for a bit. Just ask yourself one question. "What has Canon done for me that I owe them blind loyalty? " They don't love you. They do love your pocketbook. The same with any corporation. Feel free to buy what you will. I won't tell Canon if you don't.
You will not regret the purchase.
You have not yet savoured the delights of a Nikon!
The first sign of getting help is to realize you need help lol. Good luck.
Well in my opinion, you made a great decision LegalDR! Had an A6000 and loved it, especially with the Sony/Zeiss 16-17 f2.8-4.0 all around lens. Then, I too got camera antsy and changed to a Panasonic GX85 and stable of lenses. This was a good decision too and you might want to consider this system when you feel another "infidelity" arising!

Knowing a quite a bit about Yom Kippur and a bit about photography, I can assure that you are by no means in the clear my son. For a full and guilt free forgiveness you must first make the arduous cross country pilgrimage to B&H Photo the Mecca of Photography where you will bare your soul to Clerics trained, expert and seasoned in the sins of all manner of technology and who themselves have been tested a time or two. They will listen with sympathy, gravitas and furrowed brow to your confession and advise you as to the required penance.
NOTE: Like all things worthwhile in life, a "full and guilt free forgiveness" may come at a cost. Much may depend on how much room you have in your suitcase and your credit limit.
All said with a big tongue in cheek. Enjoy all that you have and accept my best wishes to you and yours and all my fellow members celebrating this time of year for a Happy, Healthy, Sweet, Prosperous and Joyous New Year.

If you're in trouble, then I'm in real trouble. When my Canon Rebel died, I replaced my Canon Elph by a Pentax Q-7 and my Canon Rebel by a Pentax K-30. I find having moved from the dark side to the light side good.

Thank you, Jerry. It appears that I will have plenty to discuss. This A6000 has a number of menus that will stump a computer scientist. I will keep at it.

I am a computer scientist - at least I have a degree in C.S. I chose Pentax, which allows me to perform regular tasks without using the menu system.

Hi, Jack! (Sorry, but I couldn't resist it). I thought of using some of my FD lenses and my Tamron 18-270 for EOS. I think that I will give the Sony lenses some work and see if all of the hype is true or not.
