Hi,
I can't make up my mind on what to buy.
Nikon 50mm G 1.8 @$299
Nikon 35mm G 1.8 @ $ 650 ( used )
Nikkor 23mm AF 2.8 @ $295 (Used)
All in Australian dollars.
I am looking for a light weight lens to carry around all day on my 610, for street & landscape photography, occasionally with people included.
I need it to be fast also as I like shooting the above in low light & at night, both indoors & out.
I also have a limited budget of under $1000.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

The 15mm Zeiss is also nice if you can afford it.

Which camera do you use? How long have you owned it?
Favorite film?

Thanks!

It will work perfectly, and give generally better images than DX lenses as you will only be using the middle half of the lens itself, none of the corner distortion issues in the FX lens will show on a DX body.

MT, hi, what about DOF (FX vs. DX on a DX body), any thoughts.

Hello

Maybe I'm too picky but it seems that pics taken with my D610 and 80-200 AF D lens are out of focus. The attached is a picture of a sign on my neighbor's fence. I set . Does anyone know of AF issues with the D610 or 80-200 af d or am I too picky?

thanks

Re: "the camera on auto, the camera on the roof of car" I'm wondering if you used the self timer or pressed the shutter, also on auto, did you shoot at f 2.8 of f8, your camera on auto could dictate the 2.8 which would not be as sharp as stopped down to f 5.6-f11.
Also the photo has a lot of reflection from your car roof so it may be degrading the image.

Hey everyone, I 've been taking pictures seriously for about 2 years now. I have a Nikon D3200. My question to everyone is how do I know what size lens fits my camera. I'm looking at a 500mm lens. Do I have to look for a certain size? What does the "f" stand for?

f mount???

I was cleaning out some old boxes of ''collectable junk'' to throw out when I came across the like new original instruction manual and other paperwork for my Asahi Spotmatic that I purchased new in 1970 and has been long gone. My question is this manual worth anything if I try to sell it on EBay or elsewhere (or here?)? Any comments would be appreciated.

Here is the answer:

[quote=rjaywallace]Looking for input from UHH members familiar with the Minolta CLE interchangeable lens film camera circa 1980. Did you use one in the past or, perhaps, do you still use one occasionally today? I am aware the camera took M-mount lenses. What specific lenses did you use? Any major flaws in the camera design that you recall? Thank you for any pertinent comments.[/quote

Camera is made for a 40mm Minolta or Leica M mount lens. I'm not sure if it is meant for others.

I do this and find it very useful. That said, when possible, I would always bracket.

I'm wondering how 11-16 translates to 16-300... ?

Actually that 50 mm lens on a DX body makes a great combo for events like weddings and Baptisms, recitals, where you are little farther back from the action. It also makes a great portrait lens on the DX. It is a sharp and fast lens and it is a great value as the cost point is minimal for that focal length.

But everybody has their own likes and dislikes. To each is own.

11-16 does not translate to 16-300mm, the OP already has a 18-200mm so 11-16mm=16-24mm and 18-20mm=27-300mm

Also 50mm would =75mm on DX, great for portraits but limited in tight spaces. It can is more useful to have a 35=50mm IMO
