It is a worthy photography forum. You have to find your way, and with limited help from the outside. see my:

Problems With UHH in General Chit-Chat (non-photography talk)

It has been moved from the section labeled Main to General Chit-Chat (non-photography talk), as it quickly headed toward 600 views.

So it goes, on The Ugly Hedgehog, just brush it off, because hanging on here can lead to important and valuable photography information.

Thank you, Nate, I will definitely agree with what you said and will continue to enjoy the forum despite a few arrogant persons. I think the vast majority are really great. I spent my afternoon testing out some of the tips I've picked up along the way and look forward to putting them to real use the next time I go out to take some pics.

Ah heck, I thought I invented the word Pics for quick shots and wouldn't you know it my 'professional' photographers licence just expired. Oh, no. What to do now?

LOL!! Thank you for inventing "pics". I knew it had to be an excellent person behind it. :) I guess you and I are out of luck with our licenses. When I realized that the pictures I was getting paid for weren't nearly as much fun to do, I folded my license into an airplane and sailed it into the sunset.

Thanks for making me laugh.

I think I missed something here. Please don't stop being a participant due to something that someone else said.

I won't quit. I've have enjoyed all I have learned and seeing so many wonderful photos. There are just some people here who have nothing better to do than nit-pick. Thank you for you advice I appreciate it more than you know.

Since the original "pics" thread is due to my usage I thought I should ask for clarity on the subject. First of all, I would like to thank you, Shootr, for pointing out a couple of errors I have made. One, using pics as an abbreviation for the word pictures. Would you please be so kind to point out in the forum introduction/invitation or in any of the forum rules where only proper grammer, spelling, terminology and punctuation are allowed and that abbreviations and shortcuts are not. Please also show where the list of proper terminology is located.

Two, I was (mistakenly) under the impression that this forum was for anyone with any skill level or interest in photography. I would also appreciate it if you would show where in the forum rules being a professional photographer is a requirement.(I am presuming professional implies being paid for your photographic work?). Since I no longer photograph for pay, I must be on the wrong forum.

I do deeply apologize to anyone that I offended if I used the pics abbreviation in reference to your photographs. My intent was to acknowledge your work not offend. I will refrain from using this abbreviation in the future. Since most of my forum viewing and commenting is done in the early morning hours when I am extremely tired and unable to sleep I will probably not be commenting since it is hard to think about proper usage.

The farrier my friend used was the same way. He would put the older or arthritic horse next to a wall for a little support then sit right on the ground to do the cleaning, filing and shoeing. He would put their feet down after several minutes to give them some relief. On this one very old horse he laid on the ground to do some of the filing along the front. He was the most popular farrier at the barn. Always so gentle. I asked if he'd ever been kicked and he said once when he first started and he man he was apprenticing under told him he'd get more if he didn't take a gentler approach. He obviously took that advice.

Give Henry a hug and carrot for me.

The cut off feet don't matter. What everyone wants to see is those adorable faces and for that reason I vote #2 . I think the strong color pulls the eye away from what matters. If I were your customer 2 is what I would buy.

I like #1 and #4. Even tho 1 & 2 are similar there is something about the color of the smoke that make the train stand out just a tad more.

Excellent shots. I can almost hear the whistle!!

You should take Jeff one day, I bet he'd really like the train.

OMG! That is a 1966 Chevelle Super Sport. I had a '67. Loved that car!!! If that car has the original motor it should be a 396 ci.

I had a friend with 2 horses, a buckskin quarter horse and a b$&/! y little Appaloosa. The App hated getting her feet done and it was a fight to get her still. I would have to stand with the Buckskin but not to hold him still; he would fall asleep and I had to make sure he didn't fall over with his hoof on he stand. It was a hoot to watch his eyes get heavy and his head would droop. I loved that horse.

Wonderful pics!! He is such a handsome boy! I think he had a really good time. How many hours did he sleep when you got him home? I bet he was out like a light.
