So the same photo I posted here got ok reviews and I posted it in another forum and totally got utterly slated and my butt kicked... Tail between legs... were they too harsh or were you good old pals at UHH too nice? haha
Post it again and ask for a critique, go ahead and post it. I'll wait.

Hard to tell without seeing the pic. Also there "s only a handful that will really critique and hold nothing back.Stick around and you'll get to know which ones are truthful an who is being nice.
It is overexposed by one stop or less but other then that I think it is great. Hey, they're kids, you got them to sit together and actually pose together. That is a big accomplishment by itself. I think they were too harsh.

they said the red channel was too saturated! It looked like it was taken by a camara phone
2 edits of the same photo...be harsh if need be... I KNOW this isn't my best work!!! BUT at the time of taking I thought it was.... I was totally and utterly slated in another forum for these and I assure you it hurt like hell...BUT I will pick which critique I like from all comments and use it in my next shoot... CaptainC,Goofy, Pale Picture are very good portrait critics, they will tell it as is.
Dear Maggie,
I am sorry that others have shown no heart when looking at your image. And what an image it is. This is an adorable image that any REAL parent would love and cherish.
Sometimes there's more to photography than cold formulas and sterile lighting ratios. Sometimes we take for granted WHY photography was invented in the first place.
Congrats on a beautiful image and a lovely memory captured forever! :)

By looking I to would say that the red is a little over saturated .'You see it in the suntan and especially in the babies dress. There's also a little blow out on the forehead of the boy holding the baby. Are you PP in photoshop and are you shooting in raw?.
I do not like the over-saturated colors of edit #1; the subtle colors of #2 are more natural.
I find the background too bright & busy, which could be toned down a bit in PP, especially the upper corners.
You have adequate 'space' above & on sides of group, but have cut-off several toes & feet. I like to pull back a bit on portraits, just so I have a little cropping room.
To me, the most obvious characteristic is that this feels like a snapshot, not a planned outdoor group portrait.
P.S. - I did not read the DP critique.
Wow, those were some harsh comments.
I'd have to agree with Jambulee in that #2 is the best of the two.
My only two complaints would be partially cutting off some feet and the uneven light falling on the girl.
