A man from a local church came to the door this morning to invite us to visit his church. He had a large bouquet of roses and was giving one to the lady of each house he went to. The roses were beautiful and I just had to photo the one he gave to my wife so I could share it with the wonderful folks on the UHH. The first picture is straight out of the camera and only sized and cropped to 8x10 at 300 dpi. It was shot with a Nikon D80 with a Tamron 17-50mm lens using manual mode at 1/60th second, F5, and ISO 100 in shaded natural light. I used a piece of aqua blue insulation board for a background. The second picture was very slightly tweaked to brighten the shadows and add a bit of contrast to make the center of the rose a little more visible. Constructive comments, good, bad, or indifferent, are welcome.

Beautiful rose! Your tweaking on the second one is perfect!
