Now there you go! I'd almost forgotten That stuff. But after the 2nd word, I could complete the entire story. I remember remarking to a Fortune 500 Silicon Valley CEO, while watching workers file into the HQ building to start their day, "Boy, it is interesting to see the large collection of volunteers coming to work today."

Sadly, I had to explain that ALL of the "keepers" had at least ONE job offer in their desk drawer, but chose to come to work here, instead. Paraphrasing Ben Franklin: "Your job is to keep them."

Retired on a low budget but smooth stomach lining.

I just got an email from Think Tank. Their Urban Backpacks are BOTH on sale. My experience with their Sling Bag has been excellent. Check their sale out.

I haven't fond a small tripod I like along with a functional Ball Head. Still looking.

Good composition. You used leading lines and an interesting sky for effective negative space. The color contrast is spot on and it is sharp. A+ on this assignment. Now, go find some more unique points of view of very familiar, and perhaps, tired objects.

Excellent and enduring, Peter. Capture to presentation nailed at every stop.
Thanks for sharing this one,

I'll add my two cents: In the mid to late 70s I owned and used an FE, FM, FE2, and FM2, and they were all terrific cameras. Depending on condition, in the used camera market, they usually go for $!25-250 range for body only. The FM2, especially, has a strong following.

That's consistent with my experience. KEH gave me a good value for my FM2. Don't remember the exact price since I sold a large amount in person at a "road" event. They are great cameras. I liked the smaller lighter form factor. I used teh motor drive for a few action shoots. It really ate up the film.

The flat light just enhances the great composition. I really like this.

Without the man who wears the Star, we'd never have Uncle Miltie!
Gas at that price was available in the mid-late 60's to early 70's. I remember in 1975, moving from Connecticut to California. I was driving a Rental Truck with a 494 Cu in engine, gas averaged $.55 a gallon. On that trip , I bought a lot of it.

With each post you submit from this area, Mike, I become more impressed with the natural beauty and your skill capturing it. Well done.

Mike really does a great job sharing the beauty of Utah, our wonderful neighbor State. Nevada, while many think is a boring desert has 3 mountain ranges and many wonderful green areas and lakes. Especially including 1/3 of Lake Tahoe's shoreline, They make a great combined visit.

At 30 feet, he was pretty up and ready. I'm glad they give us so much warning.

We have a local snake study group who annually does a snake avoidance training for dogs. Once with those big shock collars is enough for a lifetime. Once the dog smells the snake they activate the collar and the dog usually jumps about 2 feet in the air. The run them through a line of snakes about 15 feet apart until the snakes are assiduously ignored and teh dog doesn't even look at them It has worked for 3 of my dogs. I've seen them alter course quickly in the field. I've found some rattlers coiled in the shade under a bush when i carefully inspect.

In a nuclear powered vessel, they're already driving with electricity. Am EM Catapult is small 'taters compared to driving 900,000 tons. That's 900,000 of Diplomacy, of course.

Here's Craig's example of using Photography to achieve multiple outcomes. A great rendering of a great scene. I've liked that Point of View in Lahina, too. But its also a great Homage to Mom and an update showing a new neighbor.

Very nice work, Craig.

Great images, Paul. And, a great example of creative use of equipment and the quality that, what is now, a vintage lower megapixel Full Frame camera can deliver. Paul, in this case, is providing the right eye, mind and hands!

Neat find. It's interesting that you bought it for the same price it sold for originally. I would have purchased it also.

I did, new, in 1951. More hasn't changed than has. You can still make a good light diffusing device--with 3 cheap flashes and a Styrofoam cooler. And the portrait posing and Light arrays aren't much different than those taught on You Tube, today. Sure, no more film stuff, and running water development, but composition and lighting concepts, and the inviolable inverse square law still rules us, even if we don't notice so much.

PS: I shot a Kodak, an Argus and a big folding Polaroid

Photojournalism is documentary and immediate. The images are not (purposefully) posed and they are not artistic portraits. They are meant to visually document a story or, at best, tell the story.

This set up avoids the several on camera flash issued cited by the other posts.

Since costs are now low for strong environmental lighting, I'm wondering why press briefing venues don't have a central bounce flash system, allowing the credentialed photographers assigned to the channel to trigger that flash, like at Basketball and Hockey Arenas.

Go figure, but Politicos ALWAYS want their photos lookin' gooooodddd--since their records rarely do,

Sadly, my daily Gannett Newspaper, ya dead trees and all that, is full of auto correct and spell check misses. As lax a student as I was, i never tortured teh written word as badly as these paid writers (can't call 'em pros) do.

Glad to hear the positives on Grammerly.
