So, oh wise one, how would you handle my latest. I did one in a downtown condo building, called the number in the lobby and while I waited I took pics of the lobby. Concierge and the manager came in, I told them I needed to do a occupancy check. They said they would have to call the tenant. I said fine and when they didn't answer, I had as much knowledge as I could get so I went to leave. They told me to delete any pics of the lobby and if I took any outside pics they would call security. I did not delete and I went outside and took pics of the outside and left.

I work for a company that wants pictures of houses that are potential foreclosures. I try to be as invisible as possible but every now and then someone will come out and ask me what I am doing. Just say I am an amateur photographer interested in the area. Then I hop in my car and get out of there before they question it.\

I have noticed some TSA are much more anal than others. Just flew Atlanta-Boston. Atlanta is very professional and smooth. Boston, and not just this time, inspected my carry on which had several plastic tupperware packages of blueberries and my wife's carry on which had nothing suspicious.

Most important is the lens as some have said. A 14-24 is the minimum. But for outside you don't need more than the kit lenses that come with Nikons and Canons. I find my self going back to my old D200 whenever it rains since it is weather sealed. Good idea to get a camera that is weather sealed as it gives you more flexibility when it does rain.

I have looked at Sony and Fuji but cannot see the advantage over the Nikons I have. I love the heft of them, the feel and the quality of the glass. I keep a Leica D Lux 5 in my pocket at all times but the picures are a bit of a compromise for the convenience.

I converted a d200 to infrared and it takes great pictures. Has the additional advantage of being weather proof.

I do real estate photography for several realtors and one company. The company just said that they are now requiring GPS embedded photos. None of my Nikon's have such. Is there a way to add it?

I took a course in grad school where the first thing we did was the formula for a straight line. We, my friend and I , found it on our HP (63?) and had all the values for AB. A squared, etc. But we felt we had to also know how to do the blasted formula so we just used the calculator for all the entry's. I used my film cameras until people called me out for ignoring digital. But I loved my old film Nikon's and my old Leica M1. Now I am fully digital, have converted some to infrared, lust after a Leica Monocrom. And I am wedded to this damn computer

Years ago I was asked to be the principle photographer for my daughters best girlfriend. I tried to beg off but they said they had faith in me. So I looked at samples from other weddings and tried to get all the bride alone's, the bride and groom, the bride and parents, etc. Turned out so well that I now have a small business in wedding pics.

Dirtpusher, good for you on your business.

I grew up in the 60's and retired from my job of 30+ years in a large corporation where I became internationally known and respected in my field of expertise. I traveled extensively, took care of my family, paid all my bills and have always been a responsible citizen.....and I do a couple hits every day since the late 60's. All my brain cells are still intact and I am obviously not a loser or a dirtbag.

Most folks who are quick to express their opinions on the subject of weed only believe what they have been told by the inexperienced and have no direct experience themselves.

My best friend has smoked weed everyday since the 60's and he is one of the brightest and hardest workers I know. Without it, his personality can be a bit hard for some to take.

Just one more example of an UHH member who cannot carry on an intelligent conversation about a social issue without calling someone a name. Says a lot about you! "When you run out of facts, just resort to name calling!" That was the rule back in around the third grade. 😄 Clearly, that is still your rule. Sad.

OK, the poster is simply incorrect in his opinion that weed causes mental illness. So incorrect that it is clear he probably has never read anything about it, experienced it or known anyone intimately that has. Therefore, can we call him ignorant?

Light is definitely the key to all good photography. Probably helpful to have started with film. I used to carry a light meter with me everywhere. But with digital, just look for what appeals and get a good composure.

I, too, shoot real estate and I have always used a Nikon SLR. Began with a D200 with an 18-105 and now use a D810 with a 14-24 2.8 and a 28-70. Have a SB 600. And I have several companies that value my final pictures for the qualtity

I took my little Leica LX5 all around Asheville one night and got some great candid shots of the people walking around. It has an F2 lens and pushing the ISO up to 1000, you can shoot with very little light.
