Great Mark. Thanks. Kate sang that song many times during her lifetime. It has been said that every time she sang it was as if she was singing it for the first time. What an ideal to emulate!

The USPS site states:

MU ALERT MID USER NEEDS TO BE REGISTERED
This is generated when the PIC MID does not exist in PTR’s customer reference data.

Whatever the heck the above means!? But the following might help:

The Mailer Identifier (MID) is a field within the Intelligent Mail barcode that is used to identify mailers. MIDs are assigned by the USPS ® to a Mail Owner, Mailing Agent or other service providers who request them. MIDs are either a 9-digit or a 6-digit numeric code and …

It would appear the mailer identifier was not included in the mailer barcode. This problem originating with the sender.

If so, I think it’s a bit strange the package left the seller’s post office in Illinois, then
thru the p.o. in York, Pa. Package arrived on time at the p.o. in Easton, Md where it has remained since 2 Jan. Seller has not responded to my email in which I explained the problem. After a few more days without seller and/or USPS taking action I will let eBay handle it. Thanks for your research effort.

They certainly have operational issues. I’m currently waiting for a package from Florida, so far it went to Va. back to Florida, and now it’s been sitting in Alaska for a week!

I have made quite a no of eBay purchases over the years originating in Florida. Packages seem to be slower arriving to my area (Md) even before COVID-19 and holiday rush. Worst state I have experienced in slow transit times is Texas. Seems forever for a package to leave the state. In most cases it was not due to the sellers failure to ship promptly. Just last week I ordered an item from a seller in Ct; next tracking post had the package in a town in Oregon. By some miracle two days later the package was delivered.

Coffee filters on eBay?????????????????????

The only retailer in my area that carried the E-Z cup filters was Bed Bath & Beyond. The store closed a month or two ago. I went in the store during the closing sale( 20% off everything) expecting to at least find a few filter packages. WRONG! The store was cleaned out of anything worth while including all types of coffee filters.

I purchased some Keurig coffee filters recently on eBay. The package arrived at the regional postal distribution center (my name for it) located for my area on Jan 2. The “arrival” tracking entry said “ALERT”: user MID needs to be registered”. No further tracking activity since. Does anyone have a clue what that means? I have sent the seller a message within the eBay message system, but awaiting for a response. I am not optimistic he would know. I do about 90% of my shopping online with most of that on eBay, so I am familiar with most USPS tracking nomenclature. During this Covid-19 and holiday shipping crunch I realize there can be errors on tracking postings, most of which are simply chronological ones. Had one recently that showed the package left the P.O followed some time later by “awaiting for receipt of package from shipper”. That was at the same P.O.

Usually when you activate a CC by phone it is automated, so you don't have to wait for any humans to talk to.

But the NFCU awards cards are managed by a separate online element.

I would ask the credit union why the cash reward can't just be applied to your account. I've been with two major banks, and that's the way they do it.

That is an option but gift cards were what I wanted to use for holiday gifts.

I've had similar experiences with their Visa "gift" cards. It seems like that service is separate from the banking side and it was frustrating as hell. The good thing for me was that the cards were activated and we used them, but we couldn't get balance information or log in.

On a separate note, I receive my Rewards cash back directly into my account about a month ago. Did they change the process or did you select the Gift card?

I selected gift cards which I intended to use as gifts, but did not receive until Dec 30. So made other gift arrangements and plan to spend the cards myself. Yes, you can choose either avenue to execute your points.

Is there anyone here that does online banking and cc transactions with NFCU? I have been a member since 1983 and have managed to successfully operate their online security login procedures up to the present time. No problem viewing checking account or cc transactions, as well as moving funds from one account to another. One of their Visa cc programs is "REWARDS", which accumulate a point for each dollar purchase. Accumulated points are redeemable for products or cash. Cash is redeemable via Rewards Gift cards. The redeemable order process is done within your regular online account. The cards are shipped to the member by First Class mail. Here's the problem I have: you have to activate the card by logging in to a separate online location. First step is to enter the card #, date of expiration, and security code. Did that successfully. Next step was "continue". That produced a login page that did not accept my username. There was no menu to create an account. Thus, I am at a dead end. I will be able to activate the cards by phone, but that is anything but convenient due to long wait times for a live person to help you.
This is not a "help me" post. I am curious if anyone here has had similar experiences. I am very disappointed not being able to make the process work. Never had a problem re the regular cc process.

UPS delivered a replacement rifle today and it is nicer than the original one I had. The original did not have engraving on the stocks and did not have a side gate loader. 50 rounds at the range today and no issues. I now think Henry customer service is awesome and will be buying my next rifle from them.

Jim, do you have an FFL? Just curious as I have purchased a number of firearms (both rifles & handguns) online in the past 7 or 8 yrs and all had to be shipped to a local FFL for me to take possession, for a fee, of course. Or is there an exception when shipped from a firearm manufacturer? P.s. I have a Henry .22 mag. Beautiful piece of work.

We are in the middle of a pandemic with numbers spiking and I’m going to answer the door when 50 strangers come knocking. I don’t think so. Somehow, I will have to eat two bags of Kit Kat bars on my own. 😊

Now that is a plan. But I have yet to buy any candy. If I do, it will be Reese’s peanut Butter cups. YUM! I’ll limit consumption to 5/day🤓.

For some reason I am getting online ads (here on the Hog) for this device that promises to allow you to receive "most" cable channels free. All you need to do is buy the device for a one time fee of about $112, plug it in, and cancel your cable subscription. Any comments or experience on this device? Reminds me of the bogus real estate ad selling ocean front lots in Yuma, AZ.
