Why don't you pick up a couple more TS9020's. They are a great printer and are last year's model so they should be relatively inexpensive.

Sorry, I disagree! I bought a TS6020 several months back as a replacement for an 8+ year old Epson C88+ that had not given me any problems over the eight years! The TS6020 died within a month; Canon "help" said the error code described an non-fixable error. They replaced it with a TS6120 which I have learned to hate for more reasons than I can describe here.

Bmac, In this case I prefer the color rendition as it better reflects the fall colors, but I think the green rushes and cattails are far too bright considering the mostly grey fall colors on the trees in the far background. As I recall, hopefully correctly the cattails and most salt water front plants had some greenish grey winter foliage and were a dull grey.

Good one! Thanks for posting. I thought it was going to be another Aircraft Carrier vs. Lighthouse tale.

Heron standing on rocks by the Conawingo Dam

Nice shot even with the distance, but you "can't win them all".

I think there may be another interesting photo within your picture if the Heron were removed and the picture cropped from about where he is standing to the right end. To me it might look like a fantasy sea monster looking for lunch/dinner even if no one has reported a "Susquehanna monster at the dam.

Nicely done! I've done a few of these treat treatments, but only some photos show well in the OOF mode; your's is one of them!

I've tried a few sailboats, but even as a sailor, there are just too many lines up forward to get "selecting" correct enough to show the boat well.

Dook, very nice shots!! I too prefer #3 and fir the same reason as Jason. In shot #2 you took out the center section of the dock lines but left the visible section under water, and the short stub by the rail visible. Why not take out those little sections?Even knowing what those section were, I found them distractions to one of your great pictures. In my home, it would be a wall hanger.

Hi, I have 28mm to 300mm Tamron lens for my Nikon. While I am shooting and point the camera down it slides down to 300mm. I want to send it out to a company to be fixed. I don't want to send it to camera store that is going to send it out. Also any idea of the cost.
Ken

My Tamron 70-300 mm and parted company with the camera a few months back--what a mess, but being in the same situation as you are with no camera repair centers nearby, I sent it (and the 60D Canon camera) to Tamron in Comack, NY for repair and calibration (right word?) to the camera. A week and ($160.00) later I got it back, and I think it is sharper than when new. Tamron has an 800 number on their website, call them and ask about it. The cost is about 1/3 of what I paid for the lens alone about five years ago.

any suggestions to make this better?

Nice Shot; it would make a great Christmas Card! Was he enticed into playing with the lights, or did he get them on his own? Our cat used to play with the low hanging balls more than the kids did, but for all the ones he knocked off the tree, I can't remember his breaking any. We put

As previously said, it is an adorable picture and will be until he gets to thinking those bulbs might be candy, and tries to take a bite out of one. Remembering 'those days' I imagine you will get some serious opposition and noise when you try to take his new favorite toy away ; been there, done that!

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

You're right - it's not their fault - that failure falls directly on the shoulders of their parents... And the future doctors, lawyers, and Indian Chiefs will be the top performers leaving the average behind to become sheeple...

But if "those kids can't make a proper speech presentation, write a decent essay and/or do the research for it, they surely won't be the future doctors, engineers, teachers, and Chiefs of anything. I doubt any of those kids will learn what they need to know in an ever more technical world they will be living in the rest of the 21st century while they are playing on the water. They may learn to sail well, but the last time I looked at a commercial harbor there were very few sail powered commercial boats in sight.

Getting hired for that first job takes a lot more than just showing up for the interview!

Yes Jay.....credit! And every high school near the beach has credit classes for surfing too!

And we wonder why so many of the school systems have gone to h_ _l, and the kids don't get good jobs. Many the colleges have had to develop remedial courses in math, English, history--many High Schools don't even bother with that, Sciences, etc.

I've always taken my wife on fishing vacations, and have always promised her to go to an island. We finally made it.

Very nice shots!! I've tried on two Caribbean Cruises to get a shot of a Frigate Bird, but have never had one come close enough for a good shot. When they are close, I always seem to be looking at the back end, moving way.

RR, both are nice pictures, but I think the crop on the second image is just a bit too tight and loses the striking effect it deserves. I took a similar photo of another, also yellow but larger, blossom and just nicked a little point of a petal. That was the only criticism I got, and on post-contest re-PP, it turned out to be another blossom behind my subject that I thought was fully hidden.

#1 & 2 will not stand in court. One cannot give away rights of another person unless one is the legal guardian to that person. I would not worry at all on this one.
#3 is normal and accepted practice. It prevents the client from making/printing their own images and inflicting monetary damages to the photographer.

I would also protest and demand removal of the provision in #2 about the couple being responsible for the shooter's legal fees should a guest sue him for inappropriate and unauthorized use of a photo he took; that's an issue between he and the guest, and if he is a "professional" wedding photographer he should know what he should not photograph. The B&G definitely don't want to find a wedding photo published in one of the more risque magazines. I also like the provision mentioned in the second post that limits his use of the photos to his marketing efforts.

On the "other side of the coin" I'm surprised that he didn't ask for a restriction on anyone else taking pictures at 'his' event, but maybe he has learned that with most everyone carrying a phone/camera, it would be too hard to control and the damage to his reputation not worth the battle and costs.

John, Is that A1 Microadjust calibration tool part of the Canon Tools menu in the camera? I'm using an older (2013) Canon 60D with the Canon kit 18-135mm lens or a Tamron 70-300mm lens and have been mostly happy with their performance. The Tamron was recently sent to the Canon Repair Facility in NY for repair and adjustment to the camera after a catastrophic collision with our stone patio floor, but I haven't used the camera much with either lens since the repair as it has been either too cold or wet.

Thanks for any info you may be able to give me.

Jim
