I've had my NEX-7 now for several months. One of the issues with NEX cameras was the lack of lenses. Sony just announced 3 new lenses that fill out the range.
I have been a Sony shooter for years now and am very pleased with both the Sony and Zeiss lenses.
My biggest complaint with both my Sonys was the placement of the movie button. Ah, the latest firmware update added a menu item that allows one to turn off that button.
All in all, I don't think you will be unhappy with the NEX-7
Try to make time for a trip on the Verde Canyon Railroad. Spend the extra $ for a first class ticket. Great half day experience with plenty of photo ops.
The station is not far from Jerome.
Sedona has great photo ops but the town is very high end touristy.
It was a missile. Fired from White Sands and shot down by 2 patriot missiles. Just testing!
My thoughts exactly. My neighbor was out about 10 minutes before me. He claims that there was an explosion. In one of my photos there is what appears to be a red speck. It only appears in one photo.

Wondering how you store your lens filters when you are not in the field.
I have collected quite a few filters from 49mm to 77mm. I have several pouches that can hold those that I am using on field trips. That is not the issue.
I want to be able to store and organize them at home so that I can easily select the proper size and type to take on a shoot.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Try to find a camera with a viewfinder, not just an LCD screen. Forget optical zoom..

Sony A77, 100MM f/2.8 Macro
Shot at: ISO 100 f/5.6 @ .6 seconds
Question: Is this a true macro?
Check out Drobo. Upgradable on the fly and protects your data like a mirrored raid.
Check out the sony A67 or A77. Now weather proof, but they do call its moisture resistant.
I did the same thing..............Oh, well. Now I have both sets!
I'm interested and can pay with PayPal. Don't know how to proceed.
Don't believe there is a "save as" in Aperture. Check your export settings to make sure you are exporting an edited version and not the master then open the exported file in Elements.
or
Open Aperture preferences. Click on the export tab and at the top you can choose an external editor. Choose Elements. Now you can Control Click on an edited version in Aperture and directly open the photo in Elements. A new version will automatically be created for you in Aperture.
