500 gig full in 6 months what brand drive would you recommend for an external drive for Mac
I like Seagate. I think it can be used for either Mac or PC
If you trust what the Mac Techs use at the genius bar they use Lacie Rugged external hard drive. I have three Western Digital that I use on an iMac, and I have had good luck with them, which means since I have complimented them they will all stop in a few keystrokes.
I also have a a Gdrive 500 mg that I use for my laptop
Here are some links to a review

I have a friend who films and edits and moves and he mentioned his fellow editors transfer speeds of 3 TB using Thunderbolt at very fast speeds.
Here is yet another review showing speeds prices etc.

Check out Drobo. Upgradable on the fly and protects your data like a mirrored raid.

Seagate makes a three TB drive and at the rate you're going you are going to need it!
