 Macro shots of snakes and spiders or the barrel of a gun! One thought Telephoto!
Doubt if it's a "true macro" but who cares?--these are great shots of a cool creature. Here in my hidey-hole in the southwest (no that SW doesn't stand for Single White but ha ha) we often see them in December after a light snow, delicately tiptoeing around. How anyone could conceive of killing one is beyond me. I had an orb spider build a web in my kitchen window years ago--inside, not out. I learned a lot from her, and gained great respect for anything that ate that many pests.
I want one, just not that tiny.
Do not let it fall. They tend to get hurt if they fall and that spider is asking for trouble. Help him down.
Wow. I didn't know that. I do know they can jump like a rabbit. Startle one and it can leap an easy three feey.

My youngest had an irrational fear of spiders so I caught a female tarantula in central Utah (Fillmore) and gave it to her as a pet. I had to read up on them so that we gave it proper care. They can jump and are good climbers too but if they fall, they are very prone to injury. We had to design the tank so that we minimized the chance of that.
My daughter still does not like spiders but she is not deathly afraid of them. Feeding a huge spider crickets tends to add perspective I guess.
Sweet Jesus! I would have screamed like a little girl
