its winter in michigan, he has nothing else to do. :!: :!:

sinatraman, michigan offers a world of things to do in the winter, especially if you are into photography like I am, btw, "he" is actually a "she".

free2bpbh, good going! A) you messed with wiseguys that post, and B) doing a little research doesn't hurt anything. If you've sent bd wishes to residents of this forum, I'm sure they appreciated it. Thanks. Continued success in UHH and photography!

Go back this year and ask 'em to set the lights to music! Great shots. Haven't been back since the fire a number of years ago. Gotta do it. Thank you. Photojet!

The shot of Caroline creates a strong warmth, drawing the viewer into whatever she is looking at. Love it! Keep on shooting!! ('member: no one in this audience even owned a half-decent DSLR 10 years ago, so you're in good stead! Maybe Santa will check the "NICE" on his list this year and give you one...who knows?? Drop hints all over the place!!) Happy shooting!!

Warmest regards and sympathy; stunning image. What I love is it FORCES you to look for her features - I love that in any photo - draws you in! Can't be a bystander. Makes one think. Reminds of the funeral scene in "Love Actually" with the flashing images on the screen behind the mourners. May God bless you and your entire family during what I am sure will be a very, rough Christmas. May God continue to hold each of you very, very close this season. May all of your photographs be a living tribute to her.

Why the concern? The world of communication has merged with the visual world; voila, the results have been spectacular! Ansel Adams' world has been replaced by the views of a million "Ansel Adams".

"Pro" is a misnomer in photography. With a mild investment in equipment, photography has become generic - an everyman (or everywoman) event. The amateur can become the professional overnite. Martketing, however, distinguishes - and mutes - the claim of the non-professional.

Put in a more appropriate way, regulars to this site more often view themselves as "Artists" - and perhaps, rightly so. Wyeth, Disney, Picasso...all achieved status in transitioning from being the perceived artist, to actually capitalizing on their artistry. Every person claiming "pro" status, is more acurately wanting recognition as the "artist", with pay benefits.

Last week I was in the home of a retired general and former astronaut who lives here in Colorado. A prolific photographer - as amply evidenced by the body of work decorating his home - he quietly persues his photography "hobby" (when's the last time someone here has used that word?) to the delight of his family and friends. His work is absolutely, stunningly "professional"; and, he definitely has the eye of a true artist. He works with Leica camera and lenses; he also did his own PP. His wildlife images could have claimed calendars all over the world! Loved his work - and complimented him profusely. Would I buy it? Now that's the $64 million dollar question. When you can answer that question, then the artist in you will recognize the artistry in others; let the battle for the almighty dollar begin!

Gmail! Recently sent 36 shots to multiple recipients; no problem. I don't resize. If GMail has a problem, it will let you know. Have used it for years without issue.

The 70-200, flat out. PS. Check on your homeowner's policy to make sure your equipment is covered (quick call to your agent can save thousands). If you have trip protection, also make sure it covers the equipment...and HAVE A SUPER GOOD TIME!!

Wish I could help sourcing the film. It was the reason - as was the film cost - of finally getting rid of the Mamiya 7-8 years ago, at a huge loss. Hopefully, someone will step up. Highly recommend switching to digital (though I'm a Nikon nut, the pros/cons of cameras isn't my thing) and selling the cameras. Sorry I can't be more encouraging.

English Wolf - google National Geographic Top 100 Best - the girl was Sharbat Gula, an Afgan girl of 17. Penetrating green eyes. The photographer was Steve McCurry. I saved the issue chroniciling the search. The eyes are definitely sadder, but you contrast it with the original in '84...reminds me of my youngest daughter's eyes. But an oustanding photo; photogenitic model. Thanks for the reminder, Wolf.

Echoing MWAC - lighting is often a struggle; B&W might work extremely well. Like the element.
