get the book The Complete Guide To Digital Night & Low Light Photography by Tony Worobiec . you can find it probley on Amason used for about $10.00. its a great book on night photography.good luck on your photos.
there are a couple of books I would sugest National geographics guide to the National Parks of the USA.and Readers Digest on the road USA this book tells you about places that are within 15 miles off the interstate exits.there is a book that covers the North South Routes and one for the East West Routes great books if you are doing a road trip. Also triple AAA has a ton of guide books for free if you are a member.if you are not a member and want any guide books from any State PM me and I will get you the books and maps and send them to you.If you go to Zion or Bryce Canyon take the 2 or 3 hour Horseback ride through the park you will not regret it.in yoemite you can take Tioga rd out of the park to go to Bodie and if you choose to drive from Bodie to Reno it is about 140 miles.I hope you have a great trip take plenty of Mem. cards.
I have shot a few night shots but have not had any problems so far. I will be shooting more inside an old mission next week.I will let you know what happens.

I have not had any problems with the A65 and have not noticed any excessive noise with mind. has anybody else had any problems with noise?
I was going to buy the Sony A57 but went with the A65 instead just because it had a few more features that I was looking for. I dont think you can go wrong with eaither model. I love my A65.good luck in whatever you choose.
this Restaurent is located in Sea port Village in San Diego there is alot of Photo ops there. yes it does get cold once in awhile but most of the time the weather is great. come out and viest.

there is so much to see and take photos of in Yosemite there is no way to not to get great photos. check out the Chapel in the valley you will love it. another great book is Photosecrets of San Francisco & Northern California it has a whole section on Yosemite. watch your speed while driving in the park they like to write tickets there. and do not leave anything in plain sight in your car or it wont be there when you come back.sad to say but true. Tioga rd will probley be closed so you might not be able to get up to Tuolumne meadows .I hope you have a great trip.

I would look at the Sony A65 0r the A77 .I bought the A65 with the Tamron 18 to 270 and I realy like it alot. I shoot a little bit of everthing an have not had any problems. it has a ton of features and feels great in my hand. price about $1300.00.
the W G 10 will be more then enought for what he needs I have rafted the Grand Canyon 3 times. just remember to take xtrea batt. and mem.cards. also the nicon AW100 is great too but costs more but it also has more features.
I started out with a Minolta XG 1 went to a Nicon N60 and then when I went digal I bought the Sony A65 and I love this camera it does everything I need it to do.

try the gangter mus. its in the old Las Vegas post office building it will keep you entertained for a few hours.if you go to the hoover dam take the tour inside its amazing.the grand canyon is over 300 miles away but if yoou have the extra day you can take a tour bus from L.V.to see it. get maps and other infor.from your hotel desk for all the srounding areas close to L.V. it will save you alot of time.they can also steer you to some of the better tours.
