Always like the image of clouds on fire. Good capture.

Great captures and rendering. The lighting in #2 makes it my fave... Please stay well and keep on sharing the good work.

Thank you. The light was tricky. I used a strobe behind and to the left of the set up. Another off to camera left. The one behind had a yellow piece of light fabric to imitate the setting sun. Orange works too. I like the cloth because it give a deeper color that even a couple of stacked filters.

Great capture. But... wasn't it a "set-up"?

I have done this in the past, but not very often. I need simple, step by step instructions on how to move my images from my camera card to a new folder on my external hard drive. As I said, I've done it in the past, but not very often. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

1) Put card in reader
2) Open the card in windows explorer (the folder Icon at the bottom of your screen) or right click the search and type in flies explorer.
3) right click the folder and click on copy
4) go to where you want you save it on your external drive and at the top click on New Folder
5) name folder and double click to open it
6)right click and click on paste

Well it got here just a bit ago. Whew, there is a world of difference. Going to use my old monitor as a second monitor to put my tools on when using PS and to keep some things handy. Before I retired I used two screens and liked it.

Currently, I don’t have much success with birds. I appreciate your tips. I hope to use them in the future.
Thank you.

Feeders help a lot. Birds don't sit still very long.

Is that to make sure your point of view is lightened?

I am not sure I understand the question. I just like the results I get. I use manual a lot and aperture mode as well. A lot of ettl and some manual power depending on how it is working (I am kind of lazy that way). Move the lights around as the ambient changes, or if I want to play around some.

You have rendered these little bird quite nicely. I rarely use a flash. I don’t like the after effects. Can you clarify your use of flash during the daytime?

Yes during the day. I use it to fill in shadows but also to add effects. In most of me bird pictures I have 2 or even three light sources. I like back light and will often use a orange filter on a flash behind the shot. You can balance the light with the ambient (think of dappled light) or add softer light to a daylight shot. It is easier on a cloudy day though. I used three lights on these shots. A yellow light was lighting a bush in the background. Shot at about 25 feet from a blind with a feeder off to the left out of frame.
