Scary Obituary
In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the
University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the
Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a
dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the
beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200
years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."
The Obituary follows:

Born 1776, Died 2012
It doesn't hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in
St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning
the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 Romney: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million Romney: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory
Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens
of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low
income tenements and living off various forms of government
welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
"complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of
democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population
already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million
criminal invaders called illegals - and they vote - then we can say
goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If we realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

This is not about "assault" weapons. Assault weapons can go to full auto. The weapons sold to the civilian market cannot go to full auto. The civilian weapon is just built on a frame that looks like the military weapon. They are single shot only and you have to pull the trigger for each shot.
The "MSM" has to refer to them as "assault" to get the low information people to cry and whine about gun control.
I have owned weapons for many years, and I have yet to kill anything other than some rats at a garbage dump when I was very young. We lived in the country and the rats were a danger and needed to be kept under control. I don't do that anymore, but I do like to go to the range and target practice.
You UK people gave up most of your freedoms many years ago, and also your place in the world, so we will read your comments and the majority of us will totally ignore them.
By the way, your police now have SWAT teams that are heavily armed and probably trained by your MI5 or by some of our highly trained police officers.

Right on the cop being out of line.
Here in WV now, the CC permits have a picture. If you are carrying in plain sight you don't need to show an ID.

I cannot believe the appalling ignorance of the anti-gunners. You ignore history. Look up the numbers of people killed by the rulers who were able to get guns out of the hands of their populace. Our founders wanted to protect citizens from their government. Why do you think the Japanese and the Germans didn't want to invade the US? We are a country of 300 plus million. To lose even one child is anathema to me, but I wish you would come to this country and tell me when someone is going to kill someone so that I could prevent it from happening. If you are not willing to do that, then kindly put some thought and research into what your knee-jerk opinion tells you. Also, you in the UK, please look into your own history and tell me about the number of innocents who have been harmed by your holier than thou attitudes. By the way, I think this is still the only country left in the world that the people are coming to in droves and will even enter illegally for our freedom and lifestyle. Granted the lifestyle right now is going toward worse, but we as Americans are normally optimistic and know we will come back to be a beacon for freeedom.

to Shiep: I can see that your media is probably as bad as ours. If you can seriously believe that this president is better than Mr. Romney, you must be reading the new york times.(non-caps on purpose.) You need to do more research before you make such an ignorant statement. With knowledge, you could see the folly of your remarks. Having lived in the UK for three years and really enjoying my time there, I tend to not believe the BBC having seen the way they can slant the news and opinion, just like the MSM(main street media) in the US. Try to look and see what the ultra liberal and progressive politicians and voters have done to your country and you will see what obama wants to do to ours!!!!

Dr Rae wrote:
I spent the last 4 days in jury duty only to find out at the end of the trial that I was the alternate juror and didn't get to participate in the deliberation. The judge called me last night to tell me the verdict which I thought was nice since I would have been wondering. I'd like to know how you would have decided, then, in a few days, I'll tell you the verdict.

There were 3 cars stopped at a red light. In the first car, closest to the light was a 62 year old man in not good health. In the 2nd car was a 60 year old woman in good health (worked out, ran a 1/2 marathon). In the 3rd car was a 30 something woman with her 12 year old downs syndrome child in the back seat in a car seat. All were at a full stop at the red light. In the 3rd car the 12 year old thought that since the car stopped they were at their destination and he could get out of his car seat. His mom turned around to tell him to stay in and she rolled into the 2nd car. The 2nd car then hit the 1st car. The 3rd driver took responsibility for the accident and was ticketed by the police. The woman in the 2nd car told the police she was hurt a little and an ambulance was called. She refused transfer to the hospital to have her right chest wall pain checked out. She said she hit the steering wheel with her chest and her knee hit the dash. She said she was wearing her seatbelt. She returned to work that day and the next day. On the 3rd day she went to the doctor and had an xray that showed a fractured right scapula. She was sent to an orthopaedic surgeon who gave her a sling to wear. She went on to get treatment from a chiropractor, and a massage therapist for 50 visits over the next 15 months. Instead of physical therapy she opted to hire a personal trainer for strength conditioning. She was sueing for $50,000. Her medical bills and massage and personal training so far totaled $12,000. 4 months prior to this accident she fell at work on her right wrist and had pain radiating up her arm. She had a wrist xray then but it didn't show anything. She didn't tell any of her doctors about the fall. They all conclued that she broke her scapula in the auto accident. They all testified that a scapula could be broken in a low energy impact, high speeds were not necessary to cause such a break. The man in car #1 was not injured. His car had minor damage that you couldn't even see in a picture but cost $1300 to fix. Same with the 2nd car. The 3rd car had a bent license plate.

I think those are the most pertinent details. Here are some things the jury knew but we were told we could not consider - The injured lady had auto insurance that covered her car repairs and health insurance that covered her doctor, chiro and massage. She worked for the school district for 20 years, had a good salary, a good pension and her husband was x-military and had a pension as an electrician (he was retired). The lady in the 3rd car, the defendant, didn't have much in the way of income or assets.

Jury instructions:
1. Did the plaintiff sustain damages?
2. Was the plaintiff injured in the accident?
If no to either then the defendant is not guilty.
If yes to both then the jury would need to agree on a dollar amount between 0 and 50,000 to award the plaintiff.

How would you have decided?
I spent the last 4 days in jury duty only to find ... (show quote)

I think we are missing the point. The woman said she was wearing her seatbelt. If so, when the collision occurred, the seat belt would have locked and she would not have been able to hit the steering wheel and her knee would not have reached the dash.
Therefore, the only damages would be to her vehicle and the insurance would cover that. There would be no award for pain and suffering.

to tschmath: I'll bet that you think that what we now have as president is more qualified!!! Do you ever know what you are talking about or is someone from media matters coaching you. Step back and look at what is happening to our country, our embassies, and any American who is foolish enough to "disagree" with the koran. I will never capitalize that word (koran or muslim). If you think they want peace, read that dead boring book the koran.

Check out the following about "snopes". You may not want to check with them on anything anymore. Interesting reading.

I used to use this site. . . .but no more. . . thanks Fran for sending.

In God We Trust

MUST READ SNOPES NO MORE
Wow...read this one! Then check out the suggested web sites!!!

Many of the emails that I have sent or forwarded that had any anti Obama in it were negated by Snopes. I thought that was odd. Check this out.

Snopes, Soros and the Supreme Court's Kagan.We-l-l-l-l now, I guess the time has come to check out Snopes! Ya' don't suppose it might not be a good time to take a second look at some of the stuff that got kicked in the ditch by Snopes, do ya'?

We've known that it was owned by a lefty couple but hadn't known it to be financed by Soros!

Snopes is heavily financed by George Soros, a big time supporter of Obama! In our Search for the truth department, we find what I have suspected on many occasions.

I went to Snopes to check something about the dockets of the new Supreme Court Justice. Elena Kagan, who Obama appointed, and Snopes said the email was false and there were no such dockets. So I Googled the Supreme Court, typed in Obama-Kagan, and guess what? Yep, you got it; Snopes Lied! Everyone of those dockets are there.

So Here is what I wrote to Snopes:
Referencing the article about Elana Kagan and Barak Obama dockets:
The information you have posted stating that there were no such cases as claimed and the examples you gave are blatantly false. I went directly to the Supreme Courts website, typed in Obama Kagan and immediately came up with all of the dockets that the article made reference to. I have long suspected that you really slant things but this was really shocking. Thank You. I hope you will be much more truthful in the future, but I doubt it.

That being said, Ill bet you didn't know this.

Kagan was representing Obama in all the petitions to prove his citizenship. Now she may help rule on them. Folks, this is really ugly.
Chicago Politics and the beat goes on and on and on. Once again the US Senate sold us out!

Now we know why Obama nominated Elana Kagan for the Supreme Court. Pull up the Supreme Courts website, go to the docket and search for Obama. She was the Solicitor General for all the suits against him filed with the Supreme Court to show proof of natural born citizenship. He owed her big time. All of the requests were denied of course. They were never heard. It just keeps getting deeper and deeper, doesn't it? The American people mean nothing any longer.
It's all about payback time for those who compromised themselves to elect someone who really has no true right to even be there.
Here are some websites of the Supreme Court Docket: You can look up some of these hearings and guess what?

Elana Kagan is the attorney representing Obama!

Check out these examples:http://www.supremecourt.gov/Search.aspx?FileName=/docketfiles/09-8857.htm

If you are not interested in justice or in truth, simply delete.
However, if you hold sacred the freedoms granted to you by the U.S. Constitution, by all means, PASS it ON!
There truly is tyranny afoot.
