Scary Obituary
In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the
University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the
Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a
dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the
beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200
years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."
The Obituary follows:

Born 1776, Died 2012
It doesn't hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in
St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning
the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 Romney: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million Romney: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory
Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens
of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low
income tenements and living off various forms of government
welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
"complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of
democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population
already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million
criminal invaders called illegals - and they vote - then we can say
goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If we realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

The stats provided don't jibe with certified 2012 election resuts in that Obama won 26 states plus DC to Romney's 24 states.

As to the popular vote it was Obama 50.5% to Romney 48.0 %.

Why were false and misleading numbers used?

Snopes says that this has been circulating since 2000; used for Bush and Gore the first time...and many of the "facts" are wrong.

All of life is cyclic. That includes forms of government. It is what it is. One person's freedom ends where another person's begins. That is why rules grow exponentially. We have to have rules for all and rules for each. It's a hard row to hoe for govts. Add to it populations that also grow exponentially, and it's a wonder a democracy or representative democracy lasts as long as it does.

Look at how many interest groups we have in this country, from atheists to fundies, wingers to lefties, filthy rich to abject poverty, druggies with no hope to 'keep marijuana away from everyone', ad infinitum. And every group thinks IT'S agenda is the only one that matters. We refuse to compromise on anything. And that will be what does us in. If we can't stand together for the good of all, what can we do but fall?

The fact that all the above is made up makes no difference! You see I am a right winger and I know the truth is told only in the lies posted on right wing sites.

Your premise has a basic flaw. In order to be able to vote, you must first prove your Identification and you must be a citizen. Illegal aliens are not permitted to vote in state or federal elections. It would seem that the voter registration agencies have misconstrued the basic rules for registration in numerous districts if they allow non-citizens to register as voters.
The presidential election is over, so live with it. To continually complain about how or why the Republican candidate lost is rediculous and a waste of time and energy. When the Republican party finally discovers that it's planks are based on shaky foundation and their candidate removes himself from any meaningful resemblance to the majority opinions of the masses, then and only then can you present a candidate that may have a chance at winning the electoral college vote. This party solidarity based on bullshit and bickering is getting this country into more trouble than you presently know. Congress has proven itself incompetent and useless to resolve the issues at hand.

If the right wing would stop making up stuff to appease their base, we could take them more seriously.

Actually this is a republic...not a democracy.
