I've submitted a request to have the admin add a section entitled: Events Calendar, Photo Classes & Photo Expiations, I'm wanting this area to create and post these types of events for fellow hoggers to take part in. Currently I'm working on 3 - 4 events, with small sizes classes as part of a traveling tour. We'll be incorporating our travels into these tour and offering photographers a chance to ride along with us and tour selected attractions. I realize there's sites like meetup etc, but I'm part of this community and know several of you here, so there no need to create a new account somewhere else just for this.

There's is a few for these events but only because those sites require me to pay a fee as part of the registration cost. To those wanting to join these types of events, you're responsible for your own travel, your own hotel stay and your own meals. (Unless otherwise stated) Currently I'm awaiting emails from several places I've selected to have a group of hoggers hag out before or after hours when there's no visitors. This means we'll have freerane to tour and watch things no others can see.

I've already gotten several registration forms, but I need to know if others would be interested in doing this before committing to this. Because once I place a group size number on the registration form, there will be a total group fee added that must be paid in advance in order to reserve this event/gathering. I'm hoping to allow a maximum of 4 other hoggers with their wives/husbands (no children or teens)

If this is something you'd like to participate in send your comments to the admin to have this new area created just for this purpose.

In this shot, while traveling west from Maryland, we drove through Montana and it was getting dark. Our next stop would be a few hours away. Rounding a curve I notice the sunsetting over this set of rolling hills. Mind you if you look close enough, you'll see the road going up and down each hill. In order to get this shot, I didn't have a long enough lens, but set up anyway. using my 100mm on a tripod in the middle of this road. Once home, I was able to crop/frame the image better by removing the lower half which shows that I was standing o the road with a dark hill in the foreground. Again taking the image in color, then converting to black & white and using a preset I've created which heightens the shadows and attempts to remove some of the haze. The only drawback, I should have used landscape mode instead of portrait mode to take this pic. As I said I was forced to cut off nearly half the image at the bottom. Just another one of those instances where, the wife and I are on some no name road out in the middle of nowhere usa taking photos.

Your edited pic is looking much better, But I suspect a polarizing filter would have removed the glare off the water. something to consider next time.

As an ex-SCCA member, I was touring several of the north eastern tracks and Mr Newman stopped by summit point a few times. Never got a photo of him.

Again, As always you're too kind Joe. Just so there's no confusion, This is his barrowed image with my Black & white preset. This is the same preset I use on all of my image upon their conversions. But the main draw is that the Oper's images has too much glare on the wood's surface. The presets tones down the brightness, and heightens the wood grain. Ideally, it's important to dehaze the images, then locate a darker black and white preset. The same holds true if I use the in camera Black & white preset/mode the image will tend to come forth as brighter with a grey tint. Always take the pictures in color then convert.

Bloom Tip: Right before the peace lily bloom opens, take and cut out the seed pod. This does a couple of things, the pods wont explode and scatter their seeds all over the place and two, this allows the bloom to last longer as it consumes a lot of energy pushing the seed pod. Once you cut the pod out of the bloom, the bloom will typically last 1 month sometimes longer.

This is what happens when one post too much information and opens up to a community that has a wide range of idealism and ideologies. topics like these are better left out of the public view.

The view from within the tree is very creative and takes after things I would have done, Though for a more abstract image, let's crop a bit more to take out the green leaves on the right side of the image.

There's so many of these types of buildings around and they would make great apartments with a great looking storefront type view. Slowly there is a conversion going on where those who can afford it convert old mills, schools and government building into homes or housing. if we ever hit the millons lotto, I buy up an old town and make it our own.

You need to wait approx 10 - 15 more years before there's any major advancement is sensor and camera technology. that way you'll make major jumps instead of little steps when getting anything new.
