I've been watching camera reviews and comparisons on YouTube, and I have to be careful. The new cameras sound so good! I especially like comparisons because they point out specific differences between two cameras. So far, I have resisted the urge to buy anything. I still use my D750, Sony a6000, and Fuji X-T30. So far, so good. Unless I find a good excuse to buy something new, I think I'll be safe.

You don't need a good excuse!

Any old excuse will do.

Those who don't want a new camera don't want to succeed.

want vs need! Still using the D810. I would like a little better ISO performance, better focus system & fps but, a biggie at my age would be a flip out/up, down screen. I'll get by for now & probably wait until my camera doesn't work anymore. Maybe a D850 or Z6-2 for astro. I can see & like a lot of features of the new mirrorless but...

Thanks for the push. A few more of these, and I'll start shopping.

I ruled out "need" years ago.

Self-doubt can be an ally. It can serve as an indicator of the need for a new camera.

Jerry,

Based on your tiny photo, you appear in my age group. If life is like a yard stick, we are in the last 6 inches. When you get to the last inch, you won't find photography as interesting. So for now, is it better to leave behind a bunch of money or a damn good camera?

Have fun shopping.....

(Note that I traded a little cash for a 249 gram aerial camera this week. Wheee!)

You need to wait approx 10 - 15 more years before there's any major advancement is sensor and camera technology. that way you'll make major jumps instead of little steps when getting anything new.

Couldn’t agree more. My heirs can figure out what to do with the Jaguar roadster after I’m gone. Maybe I’ll buy a coupe and compound the issue. I already have a full-frame, crop-frame, mirror less and super zoom - there must be something I’m lacking?
