I've submitted a request to have the admin add a section entitled: Events Calendar, Photo Classes & Photo Expiations, I'm wanting this area to create and post these types of events for fellow hoggers to take part in. Currently I'm working on 3 - 4 events, with small sizes classes as part of a traveling tour. We'll be incorporating our travels into these tour and offering photographers a chance to ride along with us and tour selected attractions. I realize there's sites like meetup etc, but I'm part of this community and know several of you here, so there no need to create a new account somewhere else just for this.

There's is a few for these events but only because those sites require me to pay a fee as part of the registration cost. To those wanting to join these types of events, you're responsible for your own travel, your own hotel stay and your own meals. (Unless otherwise stated) Currently I'm awaiting emails from several places I've selected to have a group of hoggers hag out before or after hours when there's no visitors. This means we'll have freerane to tour and watch things no others can see.

I've already gotten several registration forms, but I need to know if others would be interested in doing this before committing to this. Because once I place a group size number on the registration form, there will be a total group fee added that must be paid in advance in order to reserve this event/gathering. I'm hoping to allow a maximum of 4 other hoggers with their wives/husbands (no children or teens)

If this is something you'd like to participate in send your comments to the admin to have this new area created just for this purpose.

Please bring actual examples of your published named tear sheets to the table if you are serious about requesting others pay.

I cannot quite say I understand the concept you are proposing. You are proposing a special section on this forum but somehow link up with people? And there is some sort of financial aspects as well?

I proposed a travel section on UHH but the time it would take to moderate the section, coupled with a seeming lack of enthusiasm and direction from admin, I went on to other (paid) projects. You need to examine the time it will take to run the section and see what admin may want from you.

Finally, when you do business on the internet, where people can comment, you will get all kinds of comments...some not so nice, some obscene, some supportive, some unrelated, some helpful, some critical. Ignore the obscene and unrelated, be happy for the supportive, but really look at the critical to see if there is merit to what is being said. Further, the internet somehow encourages some people to say things in writing that they would not say (or at least say in such harsh a way) in person. Even some well respected people on this forum can be quite rude. In my opinion, they diminish themselves in doing so.

I do not take Thomas' comments as rude. They were harsh. Consider what he said. He had some criticism..take it or leave it. But if you feel compelled to respond to such comments then you are not suited for this kind of public exposure. I am periodically involved in things that get some public attention and have suffered at the hands of critics, trolls, attorneys, union bosses, and reporters. But, I am getting to the point in my life of not really wanting to deal with the negativism. You decide what is best for you. Me...I'm going fishing. Best of luck on your photographic journey..
