He talked about gray market batteries. He saved about half or about $25 for each battery. Nikon asked you not to send the battery with the camera for repair so there is no problem to get the camera repaired.

Where in his post does he refer to gray market batteries. I missed that

If it breaks try getting it repaired. Nikon won't touch it and independent repair can't get parts.
You post implies you bought a Grey market camera but link is for a battery
Didn't know batteries were classified as Grey market.
How much did you save, please tell us. It will make a nice down payment on your next camera.
Guess your new to UHH

My town set up a spot in the police parking lot for exchanges for on line buying or selling. I'm assuming it's heavily photographed. Check around your area or suggest it at a town meeting

You spent thousands a camera and lens why try to save a few dollars.

It would be really great for concerts or any event where you need high ISO's for those low light situations.

This makes no sense at all.
You're using a 99.999% light blocking filter to shoot low light situations.
Please EXPLAIN

You have to be very well planned to photograph the eclipse. I did 25 practice runs including when to change the camera battery. I had it so well planned that I watched the whole thing with my 7 x 50 binoculars

you got some good shots. Over here in Amarillo we only had 97 percent coverage and clouds. I shot a toatal a few years ago in Nebraska. Perfect weater, no clouds. I used a special eclipse filter that I order from an astronomy comapany in Arizona. I got perfect shots
