I bought a solar filter for the eclipse. Now I am wondering what other events I could use this filter-

There aren't many applications that need such a dark filter.
Sunspots is by far the most practical, but ultra long exposures in daytime might just be possible (maybe needing a fast lens, to complete exposure before the battery fails) subject could be something like the street outside your house or a popular landmark with all the traffic invisible.
Macro shots of a glowing light bulb filament should be possible too, but they're not very interesting :(

Not many uses beyond the sun or welding.
For long exposures you are better off with regular ND filters because the optical quality/ color balance is better.
But if you are curious, give it a try

It would be really great for concerts or any event where you need high ISO's for those low light situations.

A lens cap is a cheaper solution, to get the same results :)

Use it to photograph the sun and sun spots. We're heading into a sunspot maximum so you should have plenty. Remember the sun is only a half of degree in size.
Don't expect to see solar flare or proms unless you gave a H Alpha telescope. LUNT makes a nice one

I know that the others have suggested sun photography and welding photography, but I suggest more eclipse photography. There are some others to go to. On August 12, 2026, there is Iceland and Spain. On August 2, 2027, there is Spain, Morocco, and Egypt. On July 22, 2028, there is Australia and New Zealand. And then we go into the 2030's.

That makes no sense. Take away a lot of light for low light situations? Even with high ISOs you would get very long exposures, which won't work for concerts or events.

You're using a 99.999% light blocking filter to shoot low light situations.
