Did not like the boxy designs of most cars in the early 60's.

LOVE my own 62 Impala SS 409, 4 speed!

I used both in my D850 and my Z7 without any issues at all. But once I upgraded to the Z9s I sold my XQD cards with the Z7 and use only CFE cards now. Faster and I feel more reluable in the long run.

Another example of the classic, and customized, cars at the Lead East events.

Looks like a stock 54 Belair, but stock grill only had 5 vertical grill bars. This owner added 4 more bars, but that was a pretty common modification in the 60s and 70s. Shaved the trunk latch and door handles too. Nice car, would love to see interior pics though.

Typical spelling in Great Britain and other English speaking areas. Some people here think this is exclusively an American forum, and they are very wrong!

But what’s the use of having all those lenses available if they can only adjust the focus for one lens. Converting a mirrorless is the way to go. No focus’s adjustment needed.

That issue applies to zoom lenses. All manual focus primes work just perfectly.

Seeing ads for a camera buy-back company MPB. Anyone have any experience with them? Looking to sell Canon T7i.

MPB was the British version of KEH, they started operating in the USA several years ago and have become quite reputable as a used gear site. I have not sold them anything, but have bought a few lenses from them in that time. Good transactions.

Has anyone here used Videocamrepair? They list sites all around the country.

No. But I see you are in AZ. I have used Tucson Camera Repair a couple times with excellent results. Might check with them too.

My only digital camera is a D500 and I want to keep that as is. I want to get a Nikon digital (not a pocket camera) with somewhere between 20 to 24 MP) to convert to take IR and/or UV pictures.

Questions: (1) Which DX digital body would you recommend and (2) would you get one that's already converted by the conversion service or a separate body, (3) which service would you recommend (I only know of Lifepixel, Kolari and Spencer camera), and (4) would I need filters for each separate lens if I go for full spectrum conversion?

Thank you very much in advance for any advice,
Sincerely,
Baer

It's all your choice of course, but I chose to convert a Nikon Df for several reasons. First was that it uses ALL of Nikons F mount lenses, including the old pre-ai lenses. Second was it is one of the best low light cameras I have ever used. Third is that it LOOKS like an old film body when people see you using it. Fourth, it has no pop-up flash nor video, which are both pretty worthless for IR. My only complaint is that it is the only full frame Nikon to use the EN-EL 14 batteries from DX bodies, but since I also have another Df I do have batteries for both.

You must have been searching for eagles? I posted that shot over 10 years ago!
But thanks, glad you liked it.

I guess I have to get a smart phone now. I think I miss the GPS feature the most. It works much better than the stand alone GPS.
The company that I worked for issued Iphone to me so I have been using Iphone 4, 5, 6, 7 , 11 and the latest was 12. Now that I retired I don't have the phone any more. If I get the Iphone 14 it would be familiar because I have used the Iphones in the past. However, as I have been using the Iphone I hate Apple policy of restricting files transfer between a computer and the phone via cable. They want everything going thru the cloud and I hate that. So I am thinking of getting the Galaxy S23 but I have used the Android phone very little. I had an old Android tablet years ago but I am not familiar with the Android OS.
What would you suggest? I think I am leaning toward the Samsung but I am afraid it would be difficult to use. Although I have used the Iphone for years I still think it's difficult to use so never had an Android phone it may be too difficult for me?

I have the Samsung S22 Ultra, moved up from the S20 Ultra and love it. My girlfriend had the Iphone X and was super jealous of my S22 pics. She traded hers in on the Iphone 14 Pro and has been terribly disappointed, her pics are still nowhere close to those from my Samsung. When her 2 year commitment is up in 17 more months she has decided she will be switching. Between the weak imaging and all the proprietary Apple BS she has had enough. I don't blame her at all!

Planning to schedule a trip for next year. We would like to stay inside the park, if possible, and are wondering if there is a short list of places to consider that would be somewhat centralized. The idea is to lessen the travel between places to optimize our daily choices without giving up the scenic serenity of a home base. Thankfully our vacation window is flexible at this point for a bucket list selection. All points of view are welcome.

Hard to beat Lake McDonald Lodge for "in the park" stays.

Was watching a coyote chase a rabbit in Yellowstone last Thursday whe I thought I saw something move WAY up on a round top mountain in the distance. I grabbed my Z9 and Nikon 800mm F6.3 lens and pointed it up there through the morning valley haze. I found what looked to be a bear and grabbed a quick handheld shot. It wasn't until I was back in the Jeep and checked it out that I confirmed the Grizzly, and after zooming in a bit I saw the 2 cubs to the right of her. Way too far off for a keeper, but I do love that lens!
Unedited JPG straight out of the camera, Snapbridge imported at 2MB to my phone. Definitely not the full resolution version.

Nikon has a new service advisory that says on some Z8 cameras while mounting a lens the lens cannot be rotated to the locking position.

You can go to the service advisory at Nikon's website and enter your serial number to see if your camera is part of the recall.

Nikon will repair your camera free of charge and pay shipping both ways.

There is also a problem with the Z9 involving the lens release button. Check your Z9 serial number in the service advisory for that problem.

Hadn't even heard of that. Checked both my Z9s. Neither is affected. Lucky I guess.

You just can not beat their huckleberry/cream cheese bear claws!!!!!
