I too recently acquired a Sigma 30 f/1.4 art lens. It hasn't been off the camera (SLT A77) since. Soft at 1.4 and diffraction limited at f/16 but superb everywhere in between.

This is not the Art lens. It is the Contemporary version. Not sure what the difference is.

The camera is a Sony a6000. It is, for me, an outstanding camera. Feature rich. Easy to use. I recently purchased a Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens. I did a great deal of research comparing this lens with the Sony 35mm f1.8. Many reviews with both pros and cons concerning each lens capabilities. The main capability difference for me was that the Sony lens has optical stabilization; the Sigma does not. However, I figured with the f1.4 lens coupled with the a6000 features that the Sigma would work for me. Plus the Sigma is $100.00 less than the Sony. This was not the tie breaker. If I thought the Sony would be better for me than the Sigma I would have purchased the Sony. The picture of the yellow flower is straight out of the camera. No LR or Photoshop; no tweaking. I believe this lens will be a keeper.

I am not sure where you are getting your info. This is the scenario:

1. I go to their site, enter the gear to sell/condition. They give me a initial quote an I accept.
2. They send me a mailing label.
3. I pack and send.
4. Upon arrival they determine the gear is worth less than the initial offer and send a counter offer.
5. i am not satisfied and request they return the gear.
6. They return the gear and pay the return postage (if in the USA).

They say to include accessories/manuals; return shipping is free.

Off their web site.
"This is a preliminary estimate for your equipment. Place quote to accept this offer.
We assume that the merchandise is in working order, and is supplied accurately with manufacturer's accessories including instruction manual(s).
Please understand that the figure(s) listed above are only an estimate. A conclusive trade-in price for any item can only be set after examination by one of our technicians. If we are unable to reach a mutually satisfactory agreement after inspection, we will return your merchandise, fully insured.
You will receive an email confirmation with shipping instructions if your gear passes inspection.
*Free shipping is available for the contiguous (lower 48) United States only."

Check and see how long your preview is set. Also, try resetting to factory pre-sets. Going back to zero helps me in trying to isolate and glitch.

They released version 6. $1,198.00. A good camera but way above my pay grade.

I recently purchased this Sony RX100 even though they are up to version 5 or 6. Rationale? Price. Features. Lens is excellent. Macro down to 2 inches. Shoots JPEG and Raw. 1 inch CMOS sensor. Size.
4" wide, 2 1/4' high, 1 1/3 deep. Bright 3" screen. Also, many, many wonderful reviews. I do not need 4k video, articulating screen, eye tracking, EVF, so forth and so on. This is a top notch camera and I am most pleased.

In the last week or so I was looking on-line for a body only Sony a6500. I found a site that advertised a new a6500 body for $895.00. Since the going price is around $1195.00, I was skeptical. I contacted the vendor and asked if their camera was a "gray market" version. They promptly replied that it was an "international" version (read gray market) not a "US" version; no one year warranty, etc.

Bottom line, if it seems too good to be true it prolly is not. I do tip my hat to the vendor for the quick, honest reply. Do your homework before you click the buy now key.
