trackmag and Stanmac, White wings do not taste like chicken. My favorite recipe is as follows.
Wrap about six doves in thick sliced bacon. Place on cedar plank and bake at 375 degrees for thirty min. or until golden brown. Discard plank and doves and enjoy the bacon.

Chief, other than shooting for sport, I can't think of any reason to bring home 100 doves. I don't think they are that great eating.

tramsey, I have also noticed that white wings are fairly dorsal. I can walk into my backyard while they are there and most of the time not disturb them.

wwid38 Yes, they do make a great soothing, peaceful sound. I like to sit in the backyard swing and just listen. Now that we can't go anywhere, why not.

Twenty years ago hunters would go from the United States to Mexico to hunt the White Wing Dove. Now they are breeding in Texas and are moving to the northeast. I live between Dallas and Fort Worth and I have about as many White Wings as House Sparrows at my feeders. I don't think they are a problem, but still they are here.

I tried that same shot that evening, but it was too cloudy here in east Texas. Yours looks great.
