You're right, rapport is essential and then comes trust, once trust is established then the model's personality starts to come through.

For me it was developing a rapport with the model. Rapport builds trust and 2 way communication.Welcome to the forum.

When I shoot nudes and have built up a rapport with the model I ask the model if it's OK to take some candid shots of her, I find catching the model relaxing, resting having a cup of tea or whatever she's doing when not posing can make some interesting photographs and tells you a bit more about the model. Does anyone else like candid shots?

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this one, let me know if it isn't. Studio shot of a model in crash helmet, a wanted to shoot a profile portrait of the model an wanted to introduce colour by having wear the helmet, wanted to add a theme rather than a standard profile photo.

This portrait was taken during a portrait and figurative shoot. The expression, light and hat just was caught almost by accident.

Yeah I think you're right, we were walking and came across the building, the shot was put together quite quickly, I had the idea but it didn't quite pull it off.

I like the idea and can see what you are trying to achieve with the soft/harsh contrast. The hair is lost in the darkness rendering the model incomplete. The pose doesn't quite work for me but I like the idea of not showing the face - much more mystery that way. Obviously you can only make use of what is at your disposal and to change the angle of the shot would be nowhere near as effective as straight on (the window), which I really like. If this location is close to you I would work on it a little more because if you get all the elements (light, angle, pose..) to gel you could end up with a really terrific image.
I like the idea and can see what you are trying to... (show quote)

There's aspects I like but if i shot it again i would shoot it slightly differently, I wanted to figure to fill the space of the window, I did try it with the model facing the camera but it looked a little explicit and it distracted away from what I wanted. I like the pose but think it needs tweaking. The tree is a slight distraction also but as I wanted the texture of the stone and the brick it was difficult not to include it. What are your thoughts?

Shooting with a goal or theme, in mind is good!

What is your opinion of the result?

I took this photo trying to capture the difference between the harsh edges and texture of the masonry and the model's smooth skin.

Not a great photo but a great looking model. Any chance of seeing the front side?

You're more likely to get replies if you keep to one or two per post, don't get in the habit of doing follow up pictures in the same thread unless requested. Many people don't seem to follow up updates on a post?

I like the second one best, good facial expression and covering herself adds something to the photo.
