I took this photo trying to capture the difference between the harsh edges and texture of the masonry and the model's smooth skin.

Shooting with a goal or theme, in mind is good!

What is your opinion of the result?

There's aspects I like but if i shot it again i would shoot it slightly differently, I wanted to figure to fill the space of the window, I did try it with the model facing the camera but it looked a little explicit and it distracted away from what I wanted. I like the pose but think it needs tweaking. The tree is a slight distraction also but as I wanted the texture of the stone and the brick it was difficult not to include it. What are your thoughts?

I think it needs a little bit of light inside the building to outline the body and especially the dark hair. The other bright areas behind the model could be toned down. Difficult to judge the texture of the brickwork on my android but admire your endeavours...

I didn’t really experience the contrast in texture as you describe it and, at lest to me, the middle looks a little bit strained in the pose.

I like the shot, and the theme, it is very creative.

I like the idea and can see what you are trying to achieve with the soft/harsh contrast. The hair is lost in the darkness rendering the model incomplete. The pose doesn't quite work for me but I like the idea of not showing the face - much more mystery that way. Obviously you can only make use of what is at your disposal and to change the angle of the shot would be nowhere near as effective as straight on (the window), which I really like. If this location is close to you I would work on it a little more because if you get all the elements (light, angle, pose..) to gel you could end up with a really terrific image.

Yeah I think you're right, we were walking and came across the building, the shot was put together quite quickly, I had the idea but it didn't quite pull it off.

Definitely go back and shoot it again! Sometimes you have to do that. More than once. I call it “stalking a photograph”.

Good point about the model’s hair. There was something bothering me about it, but I hadn’t figured out what it was.

Your intent may have been to capture the contrasts in texture, but the first impression I get is that the image is telling a story -- I see a naked woman precariously perched in an open window during a "break and enter" attempt. The pose implies motion/action, of which this image is a moment in time. I think to really let the texture contrast come through I would need the model in a more relaxed stable pose.

Is she sneaking in, or is she backing out?

Nice shot in any case.

I suspect part of the challenge to your model is that she did not have much edge to perch on. I'd like to see a profile of her sitting on the frame...but it might be really uncomfortable.

Brave girl to risk falling from the window. I like the shot and the model, but there are some great suggestions offered here that would make it even better. Well done!

Think you met your goal but, for me, just something not right about the color - can't define it, but...
