Thanks you! Great to know that. I suppose that means winter is slowly approaching..
First of all, I apologize for the quality of this photo; I took it through a bedroom window. But the bird really caught my attention when I saw the area around its eyes. Is there something wrong with the bird, or is this an immature male Cardinal?
Thanks, Paul! Every year I do a calendar, and I include as many pictures of my grandkids as I can (6 grandkids). These are a couple that will definitely make the cut.

Nice to capture the moment!
Yes, great to be out there.
Thanks, Tom. Yes, today looks so much different. At my grandson’s game, only 2 people from the family are allowed at the game. To achieve social distancing, people are standing outside the outfield fence, which actually works well for photos (except when the umpire keeps getting in my way).
Youth Baseball has resumed. My grandson drove in the winning RBI with this hit. It's just great to be able to be out and getting photos of my grandkids again. It seems like it's been forever.

This is just a sincere Thank You to all who have responded to my posting. Your compassion and encouragement for someone you don't know truly means a lot to me. For those of you who have lost a spouse, you know what it's like. For those of you who haven't, well, quite frankly, it sucks. Your encouragement makes me look forward to my next runaway even more, and I am really looking forward to posting photos of the great sites I'm sure to see. Thank you.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I guess this trip helped you somewhat.
A good set of images you have.
If travelling from Canada to Mexico, how long do you anticipate it will take to complete?
Thanks, Jolly Roger. I’m kinda planning on about 3 weeks. It’s why I want to start at the Canadian border to hopefully beat any early snow. BUT 3 weeks is a long time. So, I’ll just have to see how it goes.

Travel is good for the soul. The trip you plan sounds wonderful. Will you go north or south?
Starting in Mikwaukee, I’ll spend a couple days in MN with some friends, then head out to MORGAN. MT, and go south from there.

Driving US 191 is a mind-blowing, life changing experience. Take as much time as you can because there is a lot to see. Make sure you see Flaming Gorge on the Wyoming/Utah border. There is so much you should see that I'm not going to say any more. The only way to believe it is to see it.
Thanks! I think I have already spent about 15 hours looking at Google maps and Google earth to try and map out a route that will work for me. Really looking forward to it.

First - so sorry for your loss. Second - thanks for sharing I really want to do this also. I love driving the country and seeing what's in the middle if you know what I mean.
Thanks, I do know what you mean. I had a home rented in Carlsbad, CA, for the last 2 weeks in March. I was going to drive there from Milwaukee, meet my daughter and grandson there, and then go on to Tucson. I was very fortunate that I was able to cancel and get refunds. I’m looking forward to being on the road again.

I'm sorry for your loss and glad you are on the road feeling positive about traveling. Yellowstone is a must for US travelers but for sure beauty, the Tetons is second to none. You will love that trip. I'm not sure how close you will be to Dinosaur National Monument but you may want to put that on your list. It is near the Utah and Montana border. There is a research building there that houses an actual dig where bones are actively being excavated. (at least that was so some 20 years ago). If you have any interest in such things.
You posted some nice shots -- post more from your new trip when you return!

Thanks! I’ve looked at the Dinosaur National Monument, and I’m hoping that I can get there.
