My guess would be 32 F or 0 c. I base this on the fact that to set a thermometer you insert it in a glass of ice and cold water. The set point should go to 32 F. If it were vastly colder than that it would skew the reading of the thermometer and you would not be able to accurately adjust it.

This is my guess as well. I set my thermometer to 32 F using the ice water trick shown to me by several HVAC repairmen. But I've been wrong twice in the last decade so this may be number 3.

You're talking about the springs that run the same direction as the tracks on either side I take it. I've never seen a door with those mine are the spring that has a rod that goes through the springs.

Wow! Based on your picture, you could actually put a car in that garage!

Oh, yes! I do remember it. I almost didn't enter it. I thought it was inconsistent with their usual vocabulary.

Ah ha! - it can be tricky and those ones where you get 4 letters in correct place early on and then struggle to guess which of the possibles is correct are a challenge too. I'm up to 42 run of correct solutions and have not failed yet (unlike my stuttering Quordle games, I'm on a great Nerdle run too. Back to Wordle - what about the recent word with NO VOWELS!!!

I didn't see that one. I was out of town for several days and perhaps missed it. Did it have a "Y" as in pygmy or crypt? If you haven't tried cryptograms they are addicting: https://api.razzlepuzzles.com/cryptogram

I thought Wordle was just one game per day.

There's an android mobile version called "Word Challenge" that doesn't care how many you do a day.

Thanks for telling us about this game. It is now my favorite. Have it on my cell phone where you can do multiple games per day. I've played over 100 so far but lost 2. But what can you do when you have the last 4 letters in their correct positions after 3 guesses (ound) but 6 choices for the first letter and only 3 guesses left! I guess I could have tried "brown" to see if "b" or "r" or "w" were in the word to eliminate 3 of the 6. Then "mafia" to eliminate 2 more leaving only 1 choice. NOW, I think of that. However, in "hard mode" on my cell phone, all of the letters that have been identified must be in each subsequent guess.

The most important thing I learned in my 38 years of programming is that the computer always does what you've told it to do.

In my experience, The man from planet X got the most screams from the girls but my favorites are both Sci-fi horror movies: (#1) Alien and (#2) Predator.

Several years ago, I bought the adapter from B&H to mate my lenses from my Minolta SRT-101 to my Nikon D5300. All the lenses worked fine but you have to treat them as manual. Exposure wasn’t that hard for me but focusing was tricky. Of course, over the years since, I acquired Nikon lenses, so I live in the “automatic” modern world now. But the one old lens I still use very occasionally is a 600 mm with a 2X extender and I do fine with it.

The bottom line from my experience is that if you remember the basics and can judge exposure those old lenses do work on Nikons. Of course, YMMV.

Ditto. I bought an adapter so I could use my old Minolta SRT-102 50mm f1.4 lens on my Nikon D5600. It works but it's all manual and I find it is a pain to use. I don't consider it an option.

Speaking of parallel universes, I was a huge fan of "Fringe". All 5 seasons are available for free on IMDBtv.
