You have been warned - give WORDLE a try and you're addicted!
My son introduced me to it 3 days ago and I'm hooked.
It's simple enough in theory - each day (and there's only one puzzle a day) you get 6 tries to guess a 5 letter word - after each guess you learn which letters you guessed are in the word (in correct position or in the word but in wrong position. The response helps you rule out letters that are also NOT in the word.
Oh and Wordle keeps your score and gives you a running score - see attached screenshot.
No app involved it's just a website - the New York Times just bought it from its British inventor for a 6 figure sum
You have been warned! You can share your results with family and friends without revealing the word.
Enjoy

Seems like a variation of Jeopardy.

I tried it; got the word on the 5th try. I haven't become addicted. LOL!! Maybe another day. Thanks for the link

Took me the full 6 chances to work it out today. But I have had a couple of recent runs, one a consecutive triple of three attemots.
Fun game, you do have to put on the thinking cap.
There is also NERDLE which is the same thing only with numbers

Got an H correct first try...then second set...game says h is no longer in word.
Meh...

How so?
WORDLE involves discovering the letters in a single 5 letter word essentially through a process of selection and elimination.

More like Wheel of Fortune, imo.

👍
I’ve played WORDLE and take that approach. Go for vowels first then for most used consonants.
I tried it and couldn't find a way to register or whatever. Does one have to log in every day?
When WORDLE becomes too easy, try QUORDLE - effectively playing 4 games of WORDLE simultaneously.
