Chris. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! This thread has brought back great times. And yes, the digital age has changed the learning curve. I wonder where photography will be when our kids grow up. What will cameras and imaging be like in another 50yrs? Will digital be spoken of as we reminisce about papers and film on forums such as this? Thanks again,
Caranx

Caran .... now, you've brought up an interesting aspect, which I've also used as one of today's two Topic Posts ... does chemistry really affect the outcome?

If so, could you please let me know how?

Does Kodak Dektol affect Agfa paper differently than its own? ... Does Fuji chemistry affect Ilford paper differently than its own? ... If so, how?

Chris, I wish I could recall all that info but that was more than 40 years ago! I know I used D-76, Dektol, Ilford chemistry and anything I could get my hands on back then. Tried film developer on paper and experimented with different dilutions, additives and temperatures to create different effects. Had all that "research" written down but its all gone now...hurricane in '86. Only have a few prints from back then. Sigh

Started off using Kodak, then Agfa and Ilford. Can't remember the types now other than matte or glossy, but used depending on desired finish, availability and price! Ilford became my favorite. Vaguely remember that the choice of chemistry affected paper behavior leading to more creativity.

I use both Eneloop and the green top Duracells and have had no problems for years. I top up the cells after each use before storage. Not sure why you're only getting approx. 2 yrs of life but your mileage may vary based on usage vs the # of recharge cycles left vs your charging habits. I would say use either brand with a good smart charger...they do make a difference! I just bought a Eneloop multipack with charger at Costco last week to spread my usage. Hope info from other hoggers may prove useful to you.

Rick's Cafe in Negril Jamaica is one of the 7 best places in the world to capture the green flash.

Fantastic capture Chris! Jims203 is right! Way back in the 70's, I read about the green flash in Peterson's and finally captured it from the lighthouse further up the hill from Rick's. Minolta XE-7 and pure luck! Still have it...the camera, not the luck

Good one!
Reminds me of the doc who cloned himself but the clone started cussing and giving him the finger all day long. The doc couldn't take it any more so, he took it to a high bridge and threw it over to get rid of it. When the cops came, he said "You can't arrest me for murder..I made that thing". The cop replied "You're not being arrested for murder, it's for making an obscene clone fall!"

If I recall correctly, go to Edit in LR and, from the dropdown menu, select "Edit in..." You should then see a submenu of all your available plug-ins. When you select the plugin it will open the program for editing. Hope that helps

Back in September 1988, I survived hurricane Gilbert in Jamaica. We knew the hurricane was coming so we bought and stockpiled canned foods, candles, kerosene, gasoline. After the direct hit, we caught rainwater in our bathtubs, pots, buckets, anything. Boiled it for drinking. Waste water was saved for flushing. Bleach for disinfection/deodorizing. No electricity for three months+. Gathered and stored wood and debris to light fires for cooking. Gas stove and propane kept in reserve. All our neighbours cooked and shared perishables, but fruits and ground provisions kept for weeks. We all baked breads and corned/jerked meats as needed. Used the car battery to power a transistor radio and strung car bulbs in the house to provide light. Charged it in the car the next day. Everyone who could, helped clear debris and repair each other's homes as best we could. Eventually, water and electricity was restored bit by bit to the island over several months. It wasn't great, but this was what most people pretty much did to get through the aftermath. I'm sure there were similar examples in every island, coastal, and inland region damaged by hurricanes while waiting on help from the government. The US and Canada, among others, worked alongside our local crews to help with the restoration of electricity. Hospitals were a priority and the Red Cross, WHO, and local medical providers worked miracles. One entire community was completely submerged overnight when the aquifer rose and burst through a mountainside...many drowned in their sleep in 40+ft of floodwater. I was one of the divers that helped with recovering bodies. Cemetaries were flooded, caskets exhumed and had to be re-interred. A lot of stuff had to be burned. "Normalcy" took months and most people accepted this. Thankfully, most of us survived. Now, a tornado...that terrifies me! No warning, maybe seconds to take cover, unpredictable path, total, brutal destruction and obliteration in minutes. Beyond my comprehension. Anyway, just sharing a few memories and musings from way back. No offense intended in any way to anyone. Thanks

I have the double sling and can opt to use it as a single across the body or over the shoulder. The neoprene cushion is very comfortable. In dual config, the weight of two full frames, one with a 70-200, is nicely distributed across the shoulders. I'm 6'2 and ordered the extensions, but only needed one on each sling. I also use two connectors on each camera, one on the tripod mount and the other through an eyelet. Its double security, reduces some of the swing, but doesn't affect the movement from hip to eye. I prefer the versatility of the sling over a harness. Hope this adds to all the useful feedback from other members.

Well that looks like the head of a clay/terra cotta cat head with the right ear broken off. Those two holes are the eyes. Maybe the electronics created a sound of some kind..or lit up the eyes JMHO 😁
