You are right that they are technically macaques--monkeys originally from Asia not Africa. But in Gibraltar and Morocco the generic name they are called is "Barbary Apes" in some places and "Barbary Macaques in other places. They really look more like baboons than other monkeys to me. But when we saw them they kept at least 50 yards from us--maybe it was something I said...

yep - same genus as rhesus monkeys - macaca - who are native to india & commonly seen in temples

dont overthink it -- your list has items that every camera has now, plus many features she likely won't need or use -- a bridge camera fills all your needs - the lumix FZ-1000 has a broad zoom range of 25-400 eliminating carrying multiple lenses and only 1/2 the weight of a dslr. excellent results in all light conditions

i produce thousands of high quality images for stock every year, with no need for raw

wifi can always be toggled on/off, same for gps

i've had excellent results with thee lu mix FZ-1000 w a 25-400 zoom - i get better overall results than with my previous dslr and at 1/2 the weight; i shoot 95+% intelligent auto, rarely needing any adjustments, and it's great for bracketing HDR

...The one time I would have liked even a longer lens was when we came upon a troop of Barbary Apes in the Atlas Mountains--my 300 mm was pretty good for that.

not sure when you did your trip, but these days the apes (actually macaques) are accustomerd to tourists and the guides stop in an area where they come right up to tourists, begging for treats

note in the perspective wrap shown earlier, you get the parallel columns while preserving the vault and steps

a wider range telephoto could easily cover all your needs - on my 2 ,wk trip to Morocco last Feb I took only my lumix FZ-1000 with great results: https://www.shutterstock.com/es/g/cascoly?searchterm=morocco (this was a FAM trip so many hotel & restaurant shots). the wider range let me get the shots I wanted, even with the fast pace of the trip, no stopping to figure the correct lens; plus in the desert eliminates the problems with fine grained sand

I had no problems dealing with night, low light or bright desert sun

in PS you can try "edit/ perspective warp" and see if it gives you a 'better' image. it will also allow you to crop out the distracting white columns

LR has a simple to use resizer -- just import the images and choose the size when you export (changing the filename)

you might be able to create your catalog in excel - add the resized images in one cell, and your desc's in next col, etc

when you're done you can export as a pdf

if you carry it by holding the mono/tripod it can damage the camera's screw socket - if I need to, I hold the camera itself while moving, but usually just detach from the quick release
