GIMP is free and you can make selections and modify the colors to see the results. I've done this before to show people what their house will look like.
The Best Buy in Greensboro N.C. has them.
You could get a Sony camera with focus near far range adjustment.
If you,re not committ
ed to Nikon because of lenses, you might want to consider a Sony. The A68 is a DSLR type camrera with mirrorless features like EVF, full time live view, and has HSS which the Nikon D3xxx and D5xxx lack, plus has micro focus adjust not available on any entry level DSLR as far as I know and has exotic af of A77II plus the ability to use Minolta lenses that can be a bargain. A68 also has ibis.
I-70 east-bound into the San Rafael Swell was the most awe struck site I saw in the couple of weeks I spent out there.
This happened to my A57 and I fixed it but can't remember how. Maybe apple cider vinegar because I thought it was a fungus but not certain.
Just did an experiment. For the exterior i had to have 1/320s @ f4.5, iso 200. For the interior I needed 1/10s @ f4.5, iso 200. So around 5 stops on top of the cameras dynamic range.
As far as human dynamic range is concerned, look out a window inside your home and notice the interior in your peripheral vision. My camera doesn't even come close.
If you like the feel of the D5500 but the usability of the Fuji you might like the Sony A-mount cameras. They are a DSLR type camera with mirrorless features. The A68 has features not available on entry DSLR's like the D5500 and can use older Minolta lenses wich are a deal.
