I certainly remember the shot guns as well - but certainly not fondly. If you flinched during the shot, it could tear the flesh. I always opted for the normal syringe shots when it was an option.

I have read several times that studies show these scammers get a positive response almost one to two percent of the time. Sad to think that there are that many gullible people out there. Somebody must be following up as there seems to be no end to the efforts to scam our money.

I would buy it in a minute except it is not compatible with my chromed canivelling rods.

A fabulous photo with amazing "feel!" I just know I would have screwed it up by trying to lighten it up.

grandpaw, Despite the snarky comments on the IQ of the 28-300mm lens, I have found it to be an excellent lens and have used it as a "walk around" lens for many a vacation trip. I have 20X30 prints in my home from the lens and have gotten many very favorable comments on the quality. I have used it on my previous D800 and now on my D850 and still love it. Yes, I use prime lenses when appropriate but I certainly would recommend you consider it. Maybe some 28-300 lenses are better than others but I am sure happy with mine.

Thank you very much. I presume you first format the card and then after copying the update to the card, you load it into the camera and it automatically updates. Is that right?

Thanks. I have a D-850 but have no idea how to actually get the update from the computer to the camera.

Mike, Did you take those from Yerba Buena Island? Would you share what lens you used? I have taken similar pictures over the years but without such sharp results. Thanks.

Mark, A friend of mine and I did that trip following a meeting in Dublin in 2004 but were blessed with much nicer weather. One thing we did notice often were the wonderful lunch carveries. We were amused that most of them offered, along with carved meats, three vegetables. The amusing part was that the vegetables were mashed potatoes, boiled potatoes and fried potatoes. We still enjoyed our lunches and our whole journey.

Oh shi!!!!!! Why did you have to remind me? Do you know how many cameras, camcorders etc I will have to change?

4 dslr's, 2 bridge cameras, 1 camcorder, 1 small pocket zoom and somewhere my wife still has her little pocket zoom and my old one may be on the misc photo gear shelf buried in the corner. But those two probably have dead batteries since I haven't seen either for a few years.

Come to think of it I don't remember changing them 6 months ago, they may all be OK now.

As somewhat of a clock collector, I have some 33 places to change the time every time. the smart man would have a checkoff list but, every year, we usually find one straggler a few weeks later.

Thank you very much for taking the time to explain it to us. I have most of the equipment necessary but not all. Nonetheless, I appreciate your response.

With all due respect, I think it is all a specious discussion. Having been with UHH for several years now, I see every so often comments that adamantly insist that either Canon, Nikon, Leica, Sony or is the ONLY camera to have. Although I have owned Nikon equipment since 1965, I make no representation that Nikon is the ONLY camera to have. For me, the Nikon system works nicely. I have invested so much money in lenses and equipment over the years that there is no way for me to shift now. I cannot really even conceive at this point shifting to mirrorless cameras. There are obviously many, many professionals who use all of the above cameras and others as well. Since I don't make money taking pictures but, instead, just enjoy the hobby, I expect to stick with Nikon.

Now, that IS a setup. I would like to hear a description of the various elements. Clearly there is a bellows attachment as well as several directed lights but there appears to be much more.

katu,

I, too, am 79 and extremely eager to get back out on the road again. That said, no, I would definitely not go. Like it or not, we are well into the "at risk" age group. It would not take much to cause permanent, if not fatal, damage for us to contract Covid-19. I just don't see the cost-benefit of such a trip at this time. You are going to be traveling in areas where people are most likely not observing the protocols that would protect you. The only conceivable way I could begin to justify such a trip would be in an RV that I pre-loaded with all I would need for the trip. If either one of you comes down with Covid-19, I can't imagine that, in retrospect, you would feel the trip was worth it. Just my 2 cents.

Rusty, That was really nice! Not usually my kind of music but it sure worked here. Impressive dancing as well. Thanks.
