If we (America) are going to continue to do our part in driving down greenhouse gas emissions, that is a good thing. Even paying a PERCENTAGE based upon our percentage of pollution-output is acceptable.

However, requiring U.S. citizens to underwrite and pay WHEN OTHER COUNTRIES DO NOT is unfair, counterproductive, burdensome, and borders on socialism/c*******m.

I’ll tell you what: You can pay MY share for a few years, how is that?
Fair is fair!

I defended this country in wartime.
I spent 40+ years building and supporting infrastructure, resource-development and energy independence.
I dutifully paid taxes.

And I resent a government that is on an economic path to what appears to be insolvency and morally indefensible polices of racial-backlash, “wokeism”, misinformation, sexual ine******y, and g****r dis-functionality.

As to the degree of pollution of various sorts:

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) reported the most polluting countries:
https://climatetrade.com/which-countries-are-the-worlds-biggest-carbon-polluters/

”However, most of this pollution comes from just a few countries: China, for example, generates around 30% of all global emissions, while the United States is responsible for almost 14%.In the ranking below you can find the 10 countries that produce the most emissions, measured in millions of tons of CO2 in 2019.

Top 10 polluters
China, with more than 10,065 million tons of CO2 released. (10,065,000,000 Tons, 2.013E13 Pounds)
USA, with 5,416 million tons of CO2. (5,416,000,000 Tons, 1.083E13 Pounds)
India, with 2,654 million tons of CO2
Russia, with 1,711 million tons of CO2
Japan, 1,162 million tons of CO2
Germany, 759 million tons of CO2
Iran, 720 million tons of CO2
South Korea, 659 million tons of CO2
Saudi Arabia, 621 million tons of CO2
Indonesia, 615 million tons of CO2 . . .”

Since this report in 2019, U.S. CO2 emission decreased by ~1.3%, then rebounded as travel increased. The country is on-track to decrease in 2023.

SOURCE: https://www.eia.gov/outlooks/steo/report/renew_co2.php
” We expect energy-related carbon dioxide emissions in the United States to increase by 1.5% in 2022 and then to decrease 2.3% in 2023 to just under 2021 levels.”

Thank you for posting subject related data! It seems rather difficult to have a meaningful discussion on here due to all the name calling, etc. I really wish we could actually have a real discussion about things like this, but I guess it's just a pipe-dream. In any case, if we (the USA) sends money to China due to these new promises to pay r********ns for our part in "C*****e C****e/G****l W*****g" then we have to be the most stupid country that ever existed and I have little hope for our future. Is this really the way we want to go forward? Are there any restrictions on how this money can be used by those that receive it? This stuff is just so absurd!

How is stating a fact and asking for others opinions qualify as "whining?" I also said that I don't have all the facts yet and intend to follow up. If that means that I need to write my congressman, it certainly won't be the first or the last time. So, your basically preaching to the choir on that count!

As I understand it, Mr. (Let's go Brandon) Biden recently attended the Global Warning Summit somewhere in Europe and actually signed on for the United States to pay subsidies to developing nations for our part in g****l w*****g. I don't have all the facts yet, but the mainstream news is reporting that we will pay literally billions of dollars to developing nations and that China might even be included. Does anyone else out there think this is absurb?

I own an RX100 VI and am very pleased with it. I have to agree with the Op in that some of the adjustments can be cumbersome, especially when compared to my DSLR, but it is a very capable little camera, especially for it's size. I also think the price is a bit difficult to swallow, but I guess you do get what you pay for here. I've found that setting up the control ring on the lens to vary the ISO is very helpful, especially when there are varying light conditions, but I also like to use manual focus fairly often and that negates this function. I also dislike that the camera shuts down when you close the electronic viewfinder, but I do love the viewfinder and make use of it on a regular basis. All in all, the RX100 series is the King of the pocket cameras for those of us that demand control and performance. You just have to realize that you do give up some ease of operation to obtain the small size and I think it's a fair trade. Good luck and good shooting to all.

I realize that Alex Baldwin is trying to cover his backside with the suites he has recently filed on the armorer and others on the set and I do think that these individuals may indeed have some responsibility as well. However, I don't really see where Alex is entitled to point fingers at the others and claim no responsibility whatsoever for the accident and furthermore actually be paid damages in these law suites. Frankly, I am shocked that Alex considers himself a "victim" here and that he has no responsibility for what happened! How many here feel that he should get off without criminal charges and/or be paid damages in these law suites! This whole thing just seems absurd to me and in my opinion he should at least be charged with involuntary manslaugther and have his lawsuites thrown out of court. If it were you or I in this position, we'd already be in jail!

why did he point it at the non-actor???was she in a scene???

Don't know for sure, but she was probably trying to get a "point blank" angle in her shot. It's not uncommon for a videographer and/or photographer to take unnecessary risk to get the shot they want and in some way she was probably partially responsible for the accident as well. However, this does not remove any of Alex Baldwin's responsibility for the accidental discharge.

In this case, the armorer was responsible for the safety of the firearm and he failed miserably.
Baldwin had no responsibility to check the armorer's call. In fact, the unions are so strong that it would have probably ended in a grievance being filed against Baldwin, had he checked the gun.
Baldwin has been on a lot of movie sets and he knows the rules. He was just complying with the contracts and norms that are n effect.

As a side note, please ignore any comments from Wilpharm. He's like a 10 watt lightbulb, Not too bright!

Man, if they would file a grevience for checking the gun, what would they do for picking it up and shooting somebody without the armorer even being there, as this was apparently what happened.

I never said that there aren't others that should also bear some responsibility, only that Alex Baldwin should be held accountable for his negligence and that I'm shocked about him filing suits stating that he is a victim and wants damages. What kind of person does this (pretty sick and self centered if you ask me).

Mainstream news sources are now reporting that Alex Baldwin has filed suits against the armorer and others on the set of "Rust" and is claiming that he is a victim and actually wants damages as well as to attempt to clear his name. I realize that he has settled out of court with the true victims family for an undisclosed amount, but I simply can't believe that over a year after the incident that no criminal charges have been filed on anyone. I frankly find the arrogance and elitism of this man to be astonishing! Wealth and fame should have nothing to do with the prosecution of any crime for any reason and in my eyes I think he feels like he should be able to get away with it, because of who he is and that he paid off the family of the victim!

While I don't know all the facts, but I do think that there are others that share in the responsibility for this accidental death, but that Alex Baldwin is and should be held most responsible, as he is the one that picked up the gun, pointed it at the victim, and pulled the trigger whether intentional or not. He is not a victim here and certainly does not deserve damages from anyone! In fact, he deserves to go to jail for these actions. While I do believe that this was an accident, this sort of wrongful death is virtually the very definition of "Involuntary Manslaughter" and should be prosecuted as such.

Alex claims that he didn't pull the trigger, yet the FBI has checked out the gun and stated that it would not fire without doing so. Being very familiar with these single action handguns, I would also like to state that it can not be fired without also cocking the hammer. This is a very intentional act involved in firing the handgun and it simply does not happen by accident! He also picked up the gun without checking if or how it was loaded and apparently without the armorer even being on the set, then for some reason pointed it at the victim and shot her dead. How can he possible blame someone else for these actions with no personal responsibility? While a good explanation of why live ammo was even on the set is needed and others bear some responsibility, Alex is the smoking gun so to speak and should not get away with it no matter how much he paid the family of the victim.

I would also like to note that Alex was apparently in charge of the whole production and even having guns on the set without the armorer present is a huge safety violation and he personally had a real responsibility to make sure the safety rules were followed and yet he personally violated them to the extreme and someone died because of it. In any case, Alex needs to be criminal charged and prosecuted for his blatant negligence and his lawsuits should be thrown out of court!

My personal thanks to all who have served and eternal gratitude to those that made the ultimate scarifice to make us and keep us free! Today is a day for rememberence and appreciation and we all need to make the most of it. However, these sentiments go far deeper than a single day of honor once a year! "Thanks for your service" simply doesn't quite seem adequate, but at least it's a start. Everyone have a meaningful and respectful Veteran's Day Holiday and let's remember and honor their efforts whenever possible.

I too am not a big fan of tattoos, but I think the piercing thing is even worse. I've got no problem with pierced ears, but these days they seem to turn their ears into pin cushions or stretch them out with huge holes, etc. The nose rings, lip rings, tongue studs, and navel piercings are not what I'd call attractive either, but that's just my opinion. I just don't understand their popularity, but it surely seems to be popular to say the least!

I must admit that I am puzzled by the recent rise in the use of film! I got interested in photography as a kid and by the time my interests faded, I had a fairly complete darkroom setup for black and white prints and did quite a few color slides. Frankly, digital photography is what sucked me back into the hobby and big time! Frankly, I wouldn't go back to developing film for any reason and firmly believe that the capabilities of digital now exceed those of film. I guess there is the nostalgic factor that appeals to some, but I can't believe that anyone feels like film is really more capable. I guess it's a bit like vinyl records compared to CD's, but I wouldn't consider going back to a turntable either. In fact, I'm probably a bit of a fossil in still using CD's, but most of them have been ripped to MP3 that files I can play on my phone of MP3 player. I do still burn an occasional disk to play on the car CD player, but only because it doesn't have a USB input (my next one will for sure). Anyway, if film works for you than have at it, but I'm not sure why anyone would take film over digital these days. Good luck and good shooting to all.

While I like and use a lot of hot sauce and enjoy spicy foods, I have no need for the "Atomic" style hot sauces using Habenaro or Ghost peppers and the like. I like flavor, not pain and my brand of choice is generally "Texas Pete," lot's of flavor without blowing the top of my head off and sucking the breath out of me or causing permanent damage of some sort. Yeah, I've tried them, but for the life of me I can't figure out how anyone could actually enjoy anything that hot.
