One (obvious) thought: you'll want to choose photos that best express the topic of the ehxibition. Using recognizable subjects may trump an otherwise well-composed photo.

Not trying to be harsh, and I should add that I'm not a fan of HDR, except where it's successfully used to create a realistic image with details in the highlights and shadows. Sometimes, it works well when it's overdone as an "art piece."
