Last night, my Windows Live Mail stopped sending and receiving. I called Time Warner this morning, and after over half an hour on the phone, it's still dead. The Road Runner email works, so it's a WinMail issue. The tech suggested deleting and reinstalling WinMail, but that made no difference. This is the only computer in the house with that problem (I think).

Suggestions gladly accepted.

How are you accessing your Live Mail? Via Outlook or other software? I've had e-mail issues when my Outlook gets messed up.

I'm clicking on Windows Live Mail, and it's working fine on this other Dell.

That's OK. Everything else works but this one computer.

Did all you guys know that the "World's First Anger Management Class" was held shortly after Microsoft Windows was first released? ;)

That makes perfect sense.

I love the LiveMail; it's so easy to keep up with multiple emails accounts all in one convenient place. Been using it for years.

I thought I knew the answer, until you said that it works great on your other computers.

So, I'll just say "wait a day or so, and maybe it'll start working again."

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm on my old machine now. I know when I try my regular machine later, it still won't work.

There must be a reason, but trying to find it will prove almost impossible.

I use and prefer Thunderbird Jerry. It's fast and efficient and easy to get around in. The only thing one needs to observe is to properly 'Compact Folders' regularly. Easy two-step process and it keeps things speedy.

Live mail is a 'buggy' program. I find that it often locks up when I'm trying to reply to a message rather than composing a new one. See if your outbox is clear. If not, delete the message in it, then try a re-boot. When all else fails, switch to Google

 :!:

Random questions:
- Exactly what happens (or not) when you attempt to use Live mail on that machine?
- Do you get an error or warning message when it fails?
- Due to the current Heartbleed bug threat, did you change your password at the email server site and the other computers but not the affected one?

I uninstalled and re-installed, so it's now the 2012 version, rather than the 2011 I used to have.

It keeps asking for my password, but it doesn't accept it. I know the P/W is correct because it works on other machines.

I haven't changed my email password because it works on everything else.

I have a Gmail account, but Windows is my main address - the address that everyone has.

Edit: What's the relationship between RoadRunner and my Windows Mail? I have RR through Time Warner.
