we are beginning to get a small number of them in eastern KY. I have been following some of them on a local lake here for 4 years now.

I agree 100% the Olympus EM1 Mark ll is a fantastic camera.

Darktable is my raw editor of choice,on occasion Raw Therapee, I use a Linux system( Linux Mint) and have for nearly 20 years. Darktable does what I need to do. I shoot an Olympus EM1 Mark ll and a Nikon D750 and it handles both raw file formats.

I have both a D750 and the EM1 Mark ll. I have had the EM 1 for nearly 2 years and it is my go to camera for 95% of my photography. If I know that I am going to be in a low light situation shooting wildlife, then I will opt to shoot the D750, but that is becoming more rare. The EM 1 Mark ll does a great job and it is a joy to carry with the Panasonic 100-400 lens vs the D750 and the Tamron 150-600.

I thought I had already replied last month but it seems I may not have. In either event, this image of the (bald) eagle you captured on your Oly OMD EM1 is simply spectacular. Excellent and wonderful photograph!

Thank you Salo, I appreciate it.

Raw Therapee, Darktable, Lightzone, Gimp, Digikam, all free and if you don't like them, nothing lost except your time to try them. Raw Therapee and Darktable are very powerful raw editors.

your budget is a little low for what you are trying to do, but a used or refurbished Nikon D750 can be had for just a little more than what you want to spend and is a great FF low noise camera (and small for a FF), I have shot my D750 at 4000 or 5000 iso with very acceptable results. My main goto camera these days is my Olympus EM 1 Mark II, but in low light I always opt for the D750.

Yes 12 cartridges and cost somewhere around $2500.00

I just bought 12 cartridges for my Canon proGraf i6400 for $419.00 and had a cyber Monday coupon and got 12% off of that (so almost $50). This is my second set of these cartridges from Ink Owl, https://www.inkowl.com/wide-format/wide-format-cartridges/canon/C17_S53_B2/

Couldn’t you just refill the owl cartridges instead of replacing?

I could, but I don't want to go to that much trouble, it can be a pain and the carts last me a year or more.

I decided to go with carbon fiber because of the weight, I purchased this Induro about 6 months ago and really like it. Several of the folks in our camera club have expressed an interest in one as well and I also got the Sirui ball head to go with it. I chose this tripod for the weight rating because even though I shoot a M 4/3 camera most of the time, I also shoot a Nikon D750 with a battery pack and a Tamron 150-600 lens and this tripod is rated to hold 44 pounds and I got a 10 year warranty.

I have a Canon proGraf 6400 24 inch that uses 12 ink cartridges and I have 130 ml cartridges in it that are 2 years old, you should be able to set it so that it wakes up and runs a clean cycle every so often. After the Canon test carts that came with it were empty, I switched to Ink Owl ink carts and have had no issues. Just ordered another my second full set Monday to get a cyber monday deal.

Hello,
I have been researching the M4/3 cameras for a bit of time and agree it is not on its way out w/all the offerings and new models out there from the major camera co. I do have a ? for those of you who use them. I do a lot of outdoor work, and that includes hiking in New England mountains. I am looking to get a lumix G-7 for the fact of its size in particular. How does it stand up when you do active hiking etc or a lot of outdoor situations. I know it is not sealed like my Pentax K is but any other issues? lastly kit lenses that come w/the G-7 14-42 & 45-150. I am taking a trip to Chile in March so treating myself to this camera possible. Thanks for any thoughts. Paul
Hello, br I have been researching the M4/3 camer... (show quote)

If you are going to be hiking and shooting outdoors , I would want weather sealing. Look at the G85 which Panasonic says is the new model of the G7, same size, but with 5 axis stabilization and weather sealing. https://mirrorlesscomparison.com/preview/panasonic-g85-vs-g7/

Nice shot, and there are good holiday sales on for the Oly OM-D lines and lenses. I am liking the M43 system more and more for bird/BIF photography - lighter lenses and more agility. IQ not that much off APSC/FF. GAS is increasing!

Thank you , this was shot with the Panasonic 100-400, I also use the Olympus 12-100 F/4 pro and it is a great lens.

My Olympus EM 1 Mark ll is alive and well and it has replaced my Nikon D750 for 95% of my photography.
