Speaking of Keurig, I hardly ever bought K-cups, instead used the refillable ones I bought along with my own preferred coffee blends. Worked especially well at work when they ran out.

These come in two varieties: direct K-cup, and a larger one that requires you to remove the receptacle insert.

Caveat: I stopped following the Keurig 2 story, so the refillable ones won’t work in it.

I’ve never met Sassy, but I’m sure she brought much joy to your family, which is all we really ask our pets to do. My thoughts are with you all today.

I have a small Garmin unit that can talk to my phone. Mostly it’s set and forget, except the initial setup when I aim the camera.

If I need to review I can either pull the card for the computer or edit a section on my phone for download.

Identical unit in wife’s car. She witnessed a hit and run car versus bicycle two weeks ago and we made a DVD for the police. I hear the guy was ok.

A special cabinet for electronics... foolish... the whole house should be below 50%... a dehumidifier costs less than $150. I run 84 F at 45% Rh and it if comfortable. Your lungs etc do not need to be breathing mold spores.

Longshadow and I both live in the Steam cabinet known as Florida. Florida is in reality the tropics...

PS: So, yes, mold can cause lens problems. I bought a 100mm macro lens for $10... mold.... cost me $20 for the spanner wrench to take the outer glass apart to clean it... now works beautifully.

Interesting that the odor is from the dehumidifier cabinet. Is there mold elsewhere in the house?

And…I have 2x80 liter units. At the least, very convenient storage for my gear; on sale, the cost is competitive with other storage solutions.

50 mm is approximately a 1:1 view of the eye…for the 35 mm format. For medium format (6 x 6 or 7), 85 mm is the closer approximation.

35 mm format is the distance between sprocket holes on the film, giving a 24 x 36 mm frame, the diagonal being 43 mm or so.

Exactly! I do a lot of whistling, but never rap. Will there be a rap oldies station in the future?

Hah! I keep waiting for the easy listening version of Stairway to Heaven.

There was a group called The Replacements a few years back that did a very low key version of The Ramones’ I Wanna Be Sedated. Makes you rethink some of this conversation.

I like both kinds of music: Country AND Western.

Ok, no…rock, jazz, blues, folk, classical, bluegrass…that works for me. And a special place in my heart for WAP by Cardi B, which really should be the new national anthem for its wholesome expression of family values (ok, more snark here).

To Keith’s point, I said the same thing over 30 years ago: I don’t like to be yelled at.

As for pop, fine that people enjoy it, but quit lowering the bar telling me disposable things are high art.

My recollection was Ektachrome 64 and 200 in the US, and partial to blue.

Someone online was driving a relative's car, and the battery went completely dead. He couldn't close the windows or lock the car, so he had to stay with it. He called AAA, and the guy said the battery was beyond help, so he bought a new one. I had never thought about a dead battery preventing the windows to close or the doors to lock.

I carry one of those little ni-cad battery jumpers in my car.

Battery in my hybrid died a few years ago. I couldn’t open the trunk to get the jumper cables. They now live under the driver’s seat.

I hear you can’t open the charging port cover on a Tesla without power, so you are doubly stuck.

You did not ask, but I will share. I bought the monopod below. It is the single best purchase I have made in a while. I added a gimble head to it. All quick release, light and functional. Holds my Z9 and 400 2.8 very well. The foldable and adjustable feet on the bottom are a wonderful addition.

I was in the local camera shop this week, second time ever. My first observation was there were no (zero) Nikkor F mount lenses visible on display.

And…in the midst of a GAS attack, I was drawn to the monopods as a candidate placebo. Thanks!

The 18-300 should cover 99.9% of what you will see, the 200-500 the far distant animals.

And…you should be able to figure out in short order whether you prefer the magnification advantage of the D200 over its lower resolution, or the other way around.
