We use the NG Masters of Photography in our photo club for enhancing subject matter and for learning new techniques. I think there are 18+ individual subject matter areas on the disc. Well done and easy to follow.

I totally agree. We frequently use the videos at our photography club meetings and they are very well done. Everybody in the club feels that they learn a lot from them.

Grew up up the road from the barn. Rode past it twice every day on the school bus. Still own the ranch I grew up on and visit it whenever I can. Went by it today four times since we are visiting over the holidays.
Had a bad fire in the park recently. All of the Custer State Park buildings were saved but grazing for the animals was lost so they have to feed them hay. The park burros received burn injuries and one had to be put down. Rest are being treated by vets at an off site enclosed building. Very few bison, deer, elk and antelope were lost. 57,000 acres burned because the fire was pushed by strong winds. Some ranch buildings outside the park were lost, but no homes. They are expecting the park grasses to come back next spring and the park should be back to normal viewing for tourists. The fire was started by a tree falling on a power line. Normally there would be snow on the ground this time of year, but it has been very dry. We have snow there now, but it came too late to stop the fire. Just visited the park yesterday.

Not that this should be your sole criteria, but the SX60 is available on the Canon refurb site currently for $380. I personally shoot Canon for practically everything except vacations when I bring a Sony a6000. I also own a SX60 and a SX50 before it. As an occasional bridge camera user, I'm a fanboy of the Canon SX series. I can't speak for the Panasonic models you are considering, but there is evidence/reports where people have had customer support and other service issues with Panasonic. I have nothing but good things to say about Canon customer service. It's one of the reasons I use Canon. True, it's only important if you have a need, but good customer service sure is nice when ........

A couple quick reads, but there are more out there. Do a search on dpreview for more.

Me too, same route exactly and i've loved them all and Canon service. They replaced my SX50 when it croaked just days before warranty was up and I'm still using the replacement camera years later.

Make it a vertical and crop off the lines all around the deer. Just my opinion.

I can't decide which one to enter into my camera club's next print competition, which one do you think?

The second one has the best lighting and is the best photo, however I would crop off the post above the wire. There is too much post and it takes away from the subject -- the bird. You could crop a little on the left to make it an acceptable size. The first one would be better if the bird was looking into the photo rather than out of the frame. I do like the off center composition of the first one.

I use the Ozark Trail tumblers from Walmart. More economical, keeps things hot or cold for 4 hours or more, lots of colors and can get an assortment of lids. Yeti lids fit. Love them!! Have 4 of the 20oz and 2 30 oz.

I think, I heard they ran into "soft" rock.
They went deeper into the mountain to find "hard" rock to use.
That's why.
Maybe someone will jump in to confirm or deny.
Well captured!!

I grew up 12 miles from Mt. Rushmore and i'm sure it was the only choice the sculptor had because of the rock formations on the mountain. Depending on the time of day, he isn't always in shadow. Early morning is the best time to photograph the mountain. I really don't like all of the "improvements" they have put in front of the mountain. Messes up photographs. We used to be able to take photos of the mountain without the aisle of flags and all of the concrete, but their idea was to handle the crowds without them destroying the scenery in front of the mountain. Like concrete doesn't destroy the scenery? I do like the trail that goes closer to the monument. That was a good improvement. If you go, be sure to take the trail.

It was karma. Any dog that is that neglected is not going to have an owner show up. If you take it to the vet, it might have a chip and you can be assured that it is healthy. I think it was meant to be your dog.

I had difficulty with the Badlands scenery captures during my visit. This was the best one so far. I still have some more to edit through. Wish I had taken this one in horizontal composition. It would have made my selection for my scenic calendar shots for next year. Oh well. It may be sitting on the hard drive for a while. Enjoy

Cropping off the dark part of the lower half of image just above the dark mound would make a beautiful horizontal shot. The top part of the photo is the best part.

Thank you! I do have a portrait one of the first ram, but I am not sure the blur in the background works very well. What do you think?

This is by far the best one. I would crop off the blur on the top and a little bit on the bottom, however much you need to make a regulation enlargement. It would be a horizontal shot then.
