Bill,
Lots of solid advice on the credit situation. I used Adobe for 4 years and stopped due to upgrades breaking both PS & LRC.

I have had the NIC collection for years and when DXO bought NIK from Google I was quite happy. That was when things started getting fixed with NIK. I was introduced to DXO Photolab 2 essentials via a NIK update. I now have DXO PL4 elite and Affinity photo and have left Adobe behind. I did try ON1 RAW 2018 as I saw a demo at a conference. I had to update my PC to 24GB of RAM for it to load. I was disappointed with the performance. I did not update. I also tried Corel's Paintshop Pro. I found the interface to be daunting.

I use PayPal for all of my online purchases. I had a sponsor for Adobe products so the payments were not my issue.

I am also a user of GIMP & Nikon Studio. I don't require a photo app to track where my photos reside either. I found the catalog part of LRC to be a stumbling block once I used my file management to archive images. I do not use editing apps to do maintenance jobs. But then I am a retired IT Pro.

Welcome to UHH. Hobbyist here after I retired. I also started with film but switched to digital in 2008 with a P&S Nikon as I started my stint as a Dance host on cruise ships. I now have a Z6 with a D3100 backup. I shoot dancers and friends in the St. Louis area.

There are many apps that are able to perform slideshows including native ones in all operating systems. I have used VLC to build 4 windows on a large monitor with music as well. Granted I am retired IT but the app is free and the user manual is well written. I did use 4 instances of the app at once on 2 separate systems to celebrate a dance studios 20th anniversary. I also shot 80% of the images. It was a fun challenge and my fellow dancers loved it. You can do this.

I read it was a Router error. That seems more plausible to me.

The backgrounds are distracting. I wonder if just a subtle solid color would work better with the model. The pose is fine.

Timothy,
How you achieve your images is your way. What you use to do so is yours to know. We do not have to know. Should you want to share that is up to you and you alone. Professional grade systems are designed for specialized tasks no matter the device. I will be frank " The best camera you have is the one in your hand." I am a hobbyist but I have worked with professionals at a convention called Shutterfest in STL 4 times. I have had photos judged as professional level. With my entry level Nikon D3100. It is your compositions that make the image you capture. Sounds like you are already there. I just purchased a reconditioned Z6 with my D3100 as a backup. It has 80,000 plus shutter releases and was purchased in 2013. Keep shooting, find your clients. Charge what your worth. I think that is what you need to focus on, not your equipment. That's working just fine.

Nikon's new NX studio is quite an upgrade from the NX View and its other apps. It has features that are simalar to the NIK collection with targeted adjustments. Yes it is for Nikon cameras for RAW post processing but it can be used for Tiff and Jpg as well. Since you are using it now you know about the copy / paste adjustment settings. This can be used for multiple images at the same time the same a LRC. NX studio does not have an image tracking feature yet. I use my own method of naming and storing images / files using Nikon's transfer app. Personally I dumped Adobe because the updates continually broke the apps. Either LRC or Photoshop. I now use DXO PL4 and Affinity photo. I shoot Dancers aka Dancesport. I have also used GIMP, as an editor in the past but it does not process RAW images. Nikon's metadata editor is far superior to LRCs. LRC is faster in processing and exporting but do you need it? I am a hobbyist photographer & retired IT Pro. I used Adobe products for 5 years and do not miss them. The LRC catalog system is designed for folks that have little experience in file systems. That's fine but for me it was very limiting as I move images for archival purposes. Not using LRC to do that and the catalog cannot find the image. I did not want a photo app managing my file system. NX studio does not do that.

I have never used PS or AP to process RAW files. That is what LRC, PL4, Nikon Studio NX is for. After I process my RAW images I then may go back and throw additional edits using PS or AP and I might reload the RAW maybe not. I have noticed on PL4 that some of the optics I use are not available yet. So I use other apps. This all started with an announcement of an AP update.. let's get a handle on the brakes here. However some good info has come to light on all types of alternatives. We are a bunch of HOGS. Hey, stay well out there. 😉📸

I have used Nikon's View nx when I started in digital photography. I continued to use it when I started taking RAW shots. I am retired IT so I have my own method for tracking and nsming of files. I did use GIMP as an editor for a while. Then I had a sponsor for 4 years and was using LRC & PS. I got tired of Adobe breaking PS everytime an update came out as well as glitches in LRC. I now use DXO PL4 & Affinity Photo. I have been using NIK for years too.

I purchased a reconditioned 18~105 from Nikon for my D3100 and use it on my newly purchased Z6 with FTZ. It is my goto for capturing my dance friends. I have had for 7+ years now. Good performance and just the right focal length for me. It is f3.5 ~5.0 so not the fastest lens but I have over 85K of images. Very happy. My Lady shoots with a D5500 & Tamron 18~200mm with great success as well. I have all Nikkor lens.
