I just received a canon Rebel t7i DSLR, this is my DSLR, and am trying to find out what macro lens will give me what I want. I’m looking to capture the teenie tiny world of insects, flowers, water droplets, and spider webs. The canon ef 100mm f/2.8 L is usm macro lens has been suggested to me. Also the brands Sigma & Tamron have been mentioned. Help...LoL
I have the Canon 77D essentially the same as your t7i. I recommend this EF-s 35mm f2.8 is stm macro. It is true 1-1 ratio macro and has a build in led light for lighting very close macro photography. This lens is nice and lite on my 77D so should be the same on the t7i. Focus distance is very close hence the reason for the built in light. It is a crop lens and should work perfectly on your crop camera. I also have the EF 100mm L is usm macro the price is at the level of a regular consumer lens this lens is very sharp, but it is also long. you can look at both at this link.
