There is nothing better than some sunshine and a free day to grab the camera and enjoy the beauty of Northern MI. The first day of this year/decade provided both conditions. It was my first visit to see the covered bridge, and then it was off to other sites I have visited and enjoyed seeing again.

Gorgeous but now I am in my 70s I begin to see the attraction of my brother's attitude "I will consider winter sports when they invent warm snow." He lives in Florida, I live in So. California but can see snow in the mountains a fairly short drive north. I fact I can "see" the mountains and snow from the upstairs windows of my house.

Compared to So Cal, probably so, but for here, it was a mild day, around 32 to 34 most of the day, light wind, which makes it downright balmy for January here.
