I was taking a photo of this eagle in a nest when her baby popped up. Except for overcast sky and poor light, you might say right place at the right time.
I have owned the G2 for over a yr. Shoot birds down in Florida. I’m 70 yrs old and seldom use a tripod for BIF. Never had an issue with the manual switch. Use it on a D500 and it is fast to focus. My friends shoot Canon, or Nikon 200-500 lenses. Most find the G2 not as cumbersome. It’s a great lens at the regular price offered by Adorama or B&H. If you are hesitant to pull the trigger, you may be hesitant to purchase any lens. There is give and take with any purchase in the camera industry given so, so many options. As with anything, you can rent one and see if you would be happy.
Ok, now that I have read all of these opinions, I’m exhausted, and late for work!
I used to live in Cottonwood, just south of there. I think one of those mufflers was mine. Great photo!
You nailed it! Very nice. .... Jim
Wonderful images. Sharp and colorful. Thanks for sharing the info. I was not aware of bird irruptions.
I love photographing birds of all kinds, and living in Florida allows me opportunities. As a former New Yorker, I must admit, you hit the jackpot! Beautiful colors, nicely done!
Beautiful colors captured under low light conditions. Very nice! ..... Jim
Perfection Regis. Thanks for answering the question with regards to distance.
Yes, a narcissist, but you are being much too kind.
Gregory, love the way the light plays on the hues of the feathers. Great shot!
